There will not be a totally unhinged Trevor type character in this game. There will neither be a Lamar in this game. There is too much corporate sanitization and wokeness in the studio to enable such characters to be written. This can be seen in what they have made since GTA5 with the same kind of issues. This is across the AAA industry mind you, not just Rockstar.

What have they made since then that reflects this?
Not being snarky, none of this is intended as that, I simply don’t know and am curious.

Characters like DAX from GTA Online, the two carjackers (forget the names) and some others.

There is a video linked somewhere in this thread about it. Looking at all of the GTA5 Online stuff added over the years when compared to previous titles and even the base game. A supposed Drug Kingpin like Dax is in sharp contrast to older characters like Big Smoke. As Dax is totally sanitized so his gang of drug dealers are just a bunch of weirdos rather than violent criminals. Despite the game being GTA and despite DAX being a leader in "Drug Wars."
