Company after company outsources their work to India and gets all their shit leaked. You'd think they'd learn...
As somebody who works for a company that outsources to India that has experienced multiple leaks of IP data... Nope

As someone who works at a company that "insourced" 61+% of all IT jobs to Bharat from all over the world:

I know this gets bashed as anti-consumer, and I agree, but it completely makes sense for Sony or Nintendo or MS to aim for the fences for exclusives, even if it’s a window. They have a duty to sell consoles and drive up users. Exclusives are far from the worst approach those entities have used to drive those things.

I’m slowly accepting that at some point I’ll own a Nintendo console and a pc. That’s it. I’ve always been a console gamer at heart because of feels despite my gaming time probably being 60/40 PC

I'm all for taking a risk, but god damn. It's like State Farm telling me I have to pay another month of insurance for a car I no longer own because I didn't turn it off on some arbitrary day of the month they made up.

I am Jack's seething rage.

Not referring to the actual leaked footage itself. There are thousands of posts from bots pushing a leak rumor of a fully playable game with no meme coins or advertising agenda. All these links to the game and its existence are based on bread crumb fake "game website" coverage, which is based on deleted fake tweets. It's so convoluted that it smells like a corporate promotion arm is running with it to shake a few more pre-orders out once they realize the game isn't available to pirate. But I'll give you that the "gaming media" benefits as well from this, so they could be behind the full rip hoax.

So they're faking it to get more pre-order sales from people who realize it's not available to pirate, which Rockstar could have also done by not faking it in the first place.

Brilliant take.

More so forcing people to hear about the game again due to viral posts across the internet. They aren't faking anything, but propagating it to further increase the amount of peoples attention on the game.

They took something that would be damaging in the hack and tried to make the best of it, which is what marketing job description is.

The FOMO and hype is greater now than it was before the mass promotion of the leak. Kids casually interested will go to pirate the game hearing it's available, find out it's not, and then weigh making a real purchase.

i for the fucking life of me don't understand why companies like that don't operate on an entirely closed local network. they should be operating like a defense company with how they handle data.

No, it will make people cancel their pre-orders because they think it's going to be on the high seas any time now.

Absolute insane take to think they're teasing a drm free pirated copy as a marketing stunt.

Which it won't, and isn't. Nobody is cancelling shit over a fake ruse.

I'll donate 100 bucks to the forums upkeep fund if the game is riddled of dei woke shit (in your face alphabet storylines, key figures are fags, can't kill certain npcs, colors of the 41% displayed on clothing flags etc). I was thinking about paying 100 for it not meeting expectations but we all know it's gonna sell insane amount. So the question is, which version of gta are people gonna get. Vintage or modern
I'm not even a huge GTA fan. I've never played the online version. That said, I had pre-ordered a physical version from Best Buy. $79.99. And it doesn't come with a disc. It's nothing more than an empty case with a code to access the digital content. So I cancelled that, and decided to purchase the ultimate version with extra content for an additional $20. I know it comes with a free month of online, but I will never use that either. So yeah, I paid for the $99.99 just for a more complete version of the single-player game.

Realizing my 6 foot tall 14 year old son was a baby in diapers when V came out.

Smh
My daughter is the same. She's not 6 foot tall, but she was born January of '12. I remember rocking her in a chair while playing GTA V with headphones mode turned on so as not to wake her up.
