That sounds about like what we were doing back in college. We went to the dirty sock because it was the closest bar to work and midweek they had various specials whether dollar Wells or $4 pitchers. Didn't mean we didn't go to the Fox and hound on Thursdays for $2 pint night to play NTN trivia or shuffleboard, but the place was convenient.Last strip club I went to was... damn.. more years ago than I feel good counting. But I still fondly remember the days of the VVMA.
A lot of us were on a local BBS (yeah.. THAT long ago) called Virtual Village. We decided to form the right and honorable fraternal order of the Virtual Village Men's Association. It was essentially an excuse to go to a strip club every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month. Our criteria was quite strict, had to be a "minor league" franchise (so no men's Club or Million Dollar Saloon), and one where they were desperate enough for business on a Tuesday to get serious about cheap drinks. Our end of the deal was a pretty consistent cohort of around 15 guys who would show up, drink a lot, and consistently (but not extravagantly) tip the girls. Good times.. Good times.... A number of the girls from the BBS would even tag along from time to time. Times were just better back then.
One of the dancers even ended up dialing into the BBS, became a regular, and ended up marrying a dude from it.
Oh yeah, the topic of the thread.. ahem... I heard the leakers were now demanding that they offer full, real, disc editions of the game you could permanently own, or else they'd leak the whole game. Has that happened yet? heh
Despite being maybe a 5000 little square foot metal building, the interior was actually pretty nice, comfortable furniture, very clean, especially the bathrooms, but you can't say the same thing for a lot of bars on Northgate. Just a place for us to go BS after work, have a few beers and show up to work the next evening. Was also nice because I didn't live too far away.
I mean you might spend four or five bucks throwing a few ones out. I guess over the course of a couple of summers, some of the girls knew our little group, and the bartenders always treated us right. Also wasn't ever super crowded when we went, which was nice.
Just a relaxing place to go have a beer after work and the opportunity to make fun of Shortbus for getting Hoodwinked into a lap dance for 20 bucks. It became a big enough tradition there were a bunch of guys from the other teams in the shop that started joining our Fort Lazer weekly expeditions.
All in all it was just a fun time.
