Me too - sucker for disaster porn movies - but the byline sounds like it was generated by an AI to make the most generic disaster movie possible based on the last 100 that were made. Separated couple, kid, asteroid, race to protective place.....

Oh my god no way. LOL. There’s so much shit in that movie. Stupid limousine driving over earthquakes. The best stupidest thing was the plane about to run out of gas, but oh thank HLD the entire continent moved hundreds of miles while en route.

Best way to experience that was opening day in the theater. I had to drag sukik sukik there. He was all “this movie is going to suck”

Well not even 5 minutes into the movie the entire theater was laughing at people dying and it was fantastic. I still remember when the Russian Billionaire fell down Mount Everest and everyone clapped.

I thought it was pretty good with many very effective scenes but it could have been a little shorter. It's a big step forward from something like Deep Impact and many other big disaster flicks trying to be serious in tone. The only thing I really disliked was the
diabetic kid trope. I've been done with it since Panic Room 20 years ago. It's just so fucking generic. Oh noes! Insulin!

saw this last night, its not really what I expected - i thought it was gonna be a big budget action thriller like 2012 or Geostorm or Day After Tomorrow, but its more a black comedy about two characters who are constantly doing the stupidest shit possible and its pretty funny from that level. Very little special effects, I think maybe one or two minutes total, most of the movie is just people talking or driving.

I like Gerard Butler in these kind of movies, a older, fatter, slow man with no real survival skills somehow getting through is affirming to me personally. Also he gets to bang Morena Baccarin
