Completely different animal. Grim Dawn is much closer to a classic D2 experience with far less systems. But those systems feel great to play and its got a good balance of braindead easy farming content and challenging farming content. All of which are worthwhile.
I think I hate ARPG's and I dont like it. Loved D2, but never played online for ages running the same shit bosses endlessly for perfect affixes. POE very quickly got overwhelmed with how complicated builds seem to get and also needing RNG on drops etc.
Like I enjoy regular RPG's with loot to grind for ala crimson desert and of course modern day game styles of loot n escape ala tarkov.
I just look at clips like the grim dawn dlc coming and just feels like it's too much mindless horded clicking the same 3 buttons pretty much before moving to next blob. Like just dont have the mindset for this anymore.
Oops! Didn't see this was already posted. I just started another replay, but I'll wait till next week now that I know it's coming so soon. I'm super excited for this. This game just keeps my interest more than most other ARPGs for some reason.
The wait is nearly over. On July 23rd, you will journey to Asterkarn and parlay with the mighty Kurn in our largest expansion ever. Wishlist the expansion on Steam now! The team is taking an extra month to get this right, and we are making every additional day count. This is a massive...
If you want to look at a bunch of new things, they updated Grimcalc to the new version(presumably based on the lastest beta client so there might be some changes before release).
I'm really enjoying the berserker. I haven't gotten into the expansion zones yet. I started a new berserker + soldier (thane). Combining the berserker's leap and the soldier's charge is insanely fun. Leaping and charging from group to group at an insane speed. I'm going for a bleed build using onslaught. I haven't touched the werewolf or wereraven skills. It seems pretty strong so far.
Scaling the raven and wolf skills seems a bit tricky, since none of the proc or autoattack replacements will work or scale with the default were attacks. Have to use auras and other passives that don't directly effect default attacks. I went zerker/nightblade. Trying to work my way into scaling cold and frostburn for an eventual switch to raven- but for now just clomping through stuff with onslaught, dual weild procs/ pneuma burst and warcry for health restores.
