Day 1 gamepass.

Grounded is probably Obsidians best game in quite a while. Solid survival base builder. if for no other reason then doing something differant.

This game is awesome. They also added some QoL stuff like not having to equip tools. Just press X to do the action and it'll dig/chop.

That might honestly be the best video game trailer I've seen. Props to that team specifically!

So these games are worth playing? Grounded has been in my wishlist(s) for a long time.

I think most survival games are boring slop, but completed the original Grounded and enjoyed it the entire time.

I would skip the second until it's actually released though since this is just early access.

Grounded 1 is also on gamepass still.

and yeah, if you like survival basebuilders at all. its pretty good. its a lot like Abiotic factor, where its doing something completely different as the rest.

its a bit like Subnautica, in the world is predefined, with lots of lore point of interests to find, and advance the story.

If you at all like survival games, I think Abiotic Factor really stands out from the rest. The graphics are a bit janky, but man is it well thought out and absolutely massive in content.

I tried Grounded when it first hit EA and it just didn't do it for me. Started playing it a couple weeks ago and started getting into the 2nd tier of stuff, but then MnM test came up, and my group of friends wanted to try Abiotic, so kind of dropped it for now.

Grounded is interesting, but the only thing that separates it from other survival games is a slightly different setting.

Better than the first in every way so far. Really nice looking and enjoying the building again, as well as the story. Feels like a bigger production than the first game. Got ant mount, runs fast as hell and is already beating up ladybugs and stinkbugs.

I agree, I bounce off survival games pretty quickly but this one is more interesting to me for whatever reason. I got 4x the amount of time out of grounded 1 vs Dune Awakening, for example. Second so far is better in every way possible but does seem to be missing a TON of shit they look to be adding this year. Going to get a big base going and wait for more content next year.

Do you fight side by side w your ant? Or do you fight while mounted?

It’s an interesting survival that doesn’t feel “end of the worldy”.

It’s got several progression mechanisms like discovering new items to craft, finding “molars” that give you access to stat buffs, upgrading your utility tool via items, questing, and achievements that give you “science” that lets you purchase plus gooder crafting items.

The world is just also interesting and “fun”. Survival games like Rust can feel serious and this one never feels too serious.

I didn’t play Grounded 1 much but I’ve already put more than a few hours into this one. Just got my mount which feels like the end of the “tutorial”, now onto the rest of the game where I can do whatever I want.

You can do both, what I've been doing is dismounting and fighting harder bugs from range. The ant is tough on its own though and most bugs can be killed mounted up to tier 2 from what I've seen. Watching through some streams last night there is a TON of content to come which makes sense as there feels like a lot of missing bugs. No widow, only wolf spiders so far at top tier and junior mantis'. Everything else is relatively easy and can be killed pretty early on. The map is enormous and I'll spend this weekend scouting new base locations. In a year this game will be really special imo.
