My 1080 is at FedEx just down the road from me, but won't deliver until Monday. And even if Newegg would release it to be held for pickup, its still packed away in the trailer.

MSRP for a 1080 is $600 and 1070 $380 right? Fuck, as long as I typically hold on to hardware I'm tempted to blow the extra $220. Benchmarks seem to place it somewhere around 20-30% faster, which comes to around a 70%ish performance-per-dollar deficit. That's a hell of a lot better than you get with premium CPU and RAM pricing anyway.
Maybe vendors will slap better addons onto the more expensive card, too.

It offers 2 of the 1070's, the Founders and the ACX3.0. Only difference between the two is the cooling, and price (acx is $30 cheaper). I ordered the Founders simply because Great > Good. =)

Prices for the various 1080s are too high here in Europe, we are talking about 800 euros minimum (that's about 900 dollars).

The founder is a scam by nvidia with a shitty cooler costing 100$ more for absolutely no reason except that it was released first.
Custom coolers are better 95% of the time. Sad to see people falling for Nvidia shit.

AFAIK, there seems to be no "regular version". FE is the reference design, with an added 100$ on top.

The founder price scam and delay of the 'normal' 1080 has forever turned me off on this upgrade. I'll wait for the next cycle.
I might give AMD a shot, seems 2 of their $200 cards might be better than 1 1080, but I promised myself I wouldn't fall for SLI/Crossfire again, was always an unnecessary struggle to get that shit working in new games.
Nvidia is only going to be selling the FE versions themselves, but the other manufacturers will be putting out basic 1080/1070s of their own.

Why anyone would want to buy a shitty blower type card except for SLI in a badly ventilated case is beyond me though.
