The metro games in general are very atmospheric with some cool encounters. I wish the fallout series were more like metro in the settings desperate feel. Instead of turning into "lol 50s"

When was the last time someone made a linear FPS campaign that was actually good? (I did not particularly like Doom Eternal, really liked Doom 2016 but didn't love it)
idk, boltgun?
spacemarine 2?

forgive me father1/2?

I mean, theres like a million boomer shooters.

A ton of kings field, and immersive sim ones too.

that weird west one that was a fps, not the top down immersive sim..

I'm aware of a ton of these, but don't actually actively play them, so names escape me.

fallen aces, selaco, slayers x.

AAA for what you are looking for I think was taken over by modern warfare, CoD, and farcry.

so, IDK, farcry 6?

helldivers, starship troopers?

A whole bunch of those are not FPS.

When was the last good Far Cry game?

I haven't played a FPS since HL2.

It was the physics engine which was revolutionary, people still play around with it via Gary's Mod.

Story, set pieces and combat were great too.

Well they also think Modern Warfare and CoD are different, so ...

Final Shape in D2 was really good... what other FPS ends in a twelve man showdown against the series big bad.

Sseth just put out a video on this. Definitely missed this one and it 100% a HL/Dues Ex type of game.

i think prey (2017 i guess from the vid title) and deadspace 1 where the last shooter story modes i really really enjoyed. both were...kind of like die-hard style back-and-forth over the complex while it escalates. prey had more freedom, deadspace was actually stages but had the same 'setting' in that it was (in the ship) and (on the station).

Prey was basically BioShock in space with aliens and near future technology. Forgot about that one, was a lot of fun.

psa. MAJOR story spoilers in that, that may effect how you play the game. so, play it, but don't actually watch that video.

Aside from the fact Seth is reviewing it, telling you its good. pretty much everyone that did play it, says its great. and there has been a big resurgence around it, in the last few years. as people go back and looking at it.
