Netflix has been milking him dry over the insane contract they paid him I would bet.
Sandler gets a shitload of views on Netflix though. The one thing going for him is Sandler isn't a total douchebag and just keeps doing what he's doing. He wouldn't have that freedom outside of Netflix nowadays.

I'll watch it at a minimum out of nostalgia. Glad to see it seems like they got a lot of original cast back.

I wish he would do more serious acting. I mean, I'll watch the hell out of this and will prob enjoy it. But with Uncut Gems and Hustle, you get to see he still has some real acting chops.

I still haven't gotten around to watching these, but remember watching Punch Drunk Love when it came out and being pretty blown away comparing that to previous films. Looks like Little Nicky was his previous film.

Hubie Halloween is a good one if you want some memberberries. Fun at Halloween.

yeah, he was really good in Punch Drunk Love, also Spanglish as well. Also, he just seems like good dude so I guess I'm always rooting for his movies to do well. He just lives his best life, walks around NY in his gym shorts playing pick up ball and making millions.

Uncut gems was his best performance imo. I used to play a fuck ton of poker, 5 or 6 nights a week, and spent a lot of time around real gambling addicts. He nailed the vibe those guys give off.

I actually liked Blended even though it was your typical Sandler + Barrymore RomCom.

They are worth. Totally different movies than Hubie Halloween lol. Go watch Uncut Gems right now.

Did anyone ever figure out why all the love interest's have VV initials, a la Vicky Valencourt, etc? Also, just keep casting Julie Bowen in everything, yummy k thx.

It’s probably just a bit he finds amusing. If they aren’t VV they are the same of some other letter as well.

I always thought Punch Drunk Love was a pretty good movie. Probably the first time ever saw him actually trying to play as serious role. Never saw the uncut gems flick.

First serious role I ever saw Sandler in was the one where, if I remember correctly, an ex-firefigher, just after 9/11 and he has some sort of amnesia or something like that. I remember it being a sad fucking movie. Not at all your typical Sandler film at the time.

Huh, I don't remember that one. I really enjoyed punch drunk love, Amazon was honestly shocked when I saw it based on a recommendation from a buddy of mine back when we were in college. I'll have to try to track down the firefighter movie.

You're mixing up movies. He's a firefighter with Kevin James. The one you're talking about is Reign Over Me, where his family got wiped out in the 9/11 attacks. He's all kinds of fucked up as a result of that.
