Interesting take there. I hadn't really considered that JKR was the holdup on the movie and it's Emma Watson that's making an effort to bury the hatchet so she signs off on the movie (under pressure from Zaslav)

Because you hear so often the kids hate her and would never work with her-- It appears they hate a shrinking bank account more than JKR, now that a few years has passed.

HBO doesn't have Netflix level money though and I don't know how they'd monetize this show in any way that'd help them specifically. People buying Harry Potter stuff have been doing so already and I doubt anyone is buying HBO Harry Potter specific action figures or something.

You know HBO made Game of Thrones and such right? They have been making high budget shows forever. I dont even know how thats an arguing point. Saying people wont be buying Harry Potter stuff is like saying people wont be buying Marvel or Star Wars stuff. Its a massive IP that has a long history of fans. As long as the show is entertaining it will last quite awhile.

My point is that that Netflix can afford to pump a slowly failing show for years like Stranger Things. HBO doesn't have the money to pay for a shitty Harry Potter show that falls off season after season. It's not a hard concept to grasp.

Again, your stupidity fails to grasp what I said. I don't see how HBO will make money off of Harry Potter merchandise because it's not like anyone is going to buy HBO specific Harry Potter merchandise. There is plenty of non-affiliated HBO Harry Potter shit to buy as it is.

Warner owns HBO you retard. You know the company that made all the movies. You think kids go into a store and think about what companies name is on the tag? "Mom I want a Luke Skywalker toy. Oh wait this tag says Disney never mind!". Youre clearly a moron in your thought process. You still gloss over the fact that HBO makes GoT/HoD/KOTSK for years and those have all been success. Its stupid to think an even bigger IP like Harry Potter will fail after a season or two. HBO will make plenty of money off of this to keep it going.

Preview looked good but I own the movies. I really wish they would have just done another story in the universe but I guess nobody can write anymore. I will look at this just to see because I do enjoy the universe.

First one did well and wasn't half bad. They got real retarded after though trying to shoehorn Dumbledore and shit instead of making it about the actual beast stuff.

I did notice they are making the school interior seem larger and more "fantastical". Hogwarts always kinda felt too modern / boring in a way that Ron's or Luna's house did not. Race swapping Snape was not thought out and they will have to redo James and his relationship or cut it which is dumb.

What I did notice watching the trailer is that I gained way more appreciation for how well the movies were casted. Like in hindsight it seems almost comical they got the actors they got it was so on point.
