i wonder if kids will like this, honestly it just looks like an AI remake of the movie. i literally saw nothing in that trailer that wasn't in the movie, you'd think they would want to emphasize how its longer and deeper and black

I love how they wait until a minute in, after showing everyone (except Hermione) looking almost exactly like described...then they show Snape and it just ruins it. I am almost more offended by how young he is because it doesn't look like he is old enough to be a peer of people Potter's parents age. Also, Alan Rickman was unmatched. Lithgow looks good.

Yea the first movie was extremely close to the book since it was so short. The TV format will allow them to build out the relationship structure better and will diverge more and more from the movies as the seasons progress (unless this is absolutely abysmal viewership wise they wont cancel it, its their golden goose)

I bet this does insane numbers. We know it shouldn't but it will. I would be somewhat excited for this if they had just cast Hermione and Snape appropriately.

All they had to do was not make Snape black. I could have probably lived with the hermione casting. The rest of it seemed fine to me.

I'm sure it was calculated. They probably thought which main character can we get away with making black without alienating everyone. Obviously not the main 3 or Dumbledore. Honestly it probably would have been better to make Harry's Aunt and Uncle black. Then all their treatment towards him would have an additional layer lol.
