I thought I already commented on this thread? Or is it a duplicate? Anyway, it's a pretty good film. Tsangari has been a pillar of the Greek new wave, by writing, directing and also producing a bunch of key movies (most notably several of the Yorgos Lanthimos film). Her previous film is an amazing dark comedy about masculinity called Chevalier (a bunch of guys on a cruise trying to one up each other), this one is not an original scenario, it's a book adaptation but it also has a sociological element to it. It's all about a rural community that struggles with the arrival of a production oriented modernity. There are some elements of comedy, but it's not the main tone of the film.

I appreciate you really taking cinema as seriously as you do, but I think I would probably rather listen to this Greek New Wave playlist then read one of your movie reviews. That's not to say sometimes I don't maybe learn something but God damn, can you try any harder.
