Having a bad Blue Screen morning on 7/19/2024? Crowdstrike pushed out a bad update. (fix in thread)

Apparently there was a Crowdstrike update pushed out this morning which is causing a LOT of windows systems to blue screen. For those who do not know, Crowdstrike is an EDR tool (Endpoint Detection and Response) tool. I.e. a protection against hacks. Here's a fast link with a fix :

Not a really "easy" fix, but it's a workaround to get the systems back up.

I appear to be in the worst boat. Fucked by crowdstrike, can't safemode due to bitlocker, can't self lookup bitlocker key due to company policies, IT not taking calls until they know what to do.

Guess I get a free Friday off.

I will have to admit that to run the fix in an environment with Bitlocker you essentially have to have your IT department read you off a 64 character string and you have to enter it to boot into safe mode is some serious Chef's Kiss level of hurt locker pain.
