I was excited for this movie. Good cast, great trailer.

But this was shit. It was a poorly acted, poorly written, poorly directed, poorly edited mess.

Everyone phoned it in here: olyphant, hardy, whitaker, and every asian person.

Lmao watch the mexican girl everytime she shoots a gun, instead of simulating knockback, she throws the gun forward like children do when theyre playing.

Every character survives not just a hail of fully automatic bullets, but actual hurricanes of them, unless its a faceless bad guy, then its 100% hitrate headshots using clips that magically hold thousands of bullets.

It was 96 minutes of generic gunfighting and blood squibs.

did they pay tom hardy $1? how can he practically play the same character in mobland 10/10 and this is shit, lulz

i had to finish it tho, it's so rare for me to find cantonese in a movie

also the song that plays right after boss lady kills the hench men is so jarring

This was not a great movie but it was pretty mindless action . Best part was the unlimited ammo everyone had. Revolvers shooting like 10 rounds at a time and stuff.

As far as expectations vs. reality, this is one of the worst movies I have ever seen. How in the fuck did a movie with this cast and the maker of The Raid 1 & 2 end up such an ungodly mess? Not one single thing in the entire movie made a bit of sense. I'd blame Hollywood for doing what it always does when dudes who make great foreign action movies come over here, but Gareth Evans didn't just direct this shit, he wrote it too.

Cinematography was weird too. Like anytime they were out in the city it looked like a cheap version of the matted CGI from Sin City.

All in all, just an absolutely terrible movie. If you want an action flick this weekend, just go see The Accountant 2 in a theater.

Best part was the unlimited ammo everyone had. Revolvers shooting like 10 rounds at a time and stuff.
My favorite was the pump shotgun that suddenly becomes a semi-auto. Evans should stick to melee, the nightclub fight (before the guns come out) was the only scene in the whole movie that even vaguely resembled what he did with The Raid.

I saw a spas12 in a movie recently. There was a 110lb girl shooting it and it had a cyclic rate like an m16

Isn't this what the SPAS-12 is? Though I have no idea on the feasibility of switching the action mid combat.
Never fired one since they are actually really goddamn rare even in the US, compared to what Hollywood would have you believe, but my understanding is that the SPAS-12 is a semi-auto that has a pump for use with shells that don't produce enough force to cycle the action. The shotguns in this movie were your standard Mossberg 500 / Remington 870 design. It was just funny to see the character pump, fire, pump, fire, and then firefirefirefirefirefirefirefire. It was so absurd that pointing out that she fired 13 shots total with a tube that could hold 5 at most (not even a +1 because like in all Hollywood shotgun scenes, the character must first pump the gun "for effect") seemed nitpicky by comparison.

Yea the pump is there a backup/manual cycle to fire bullshit like beanbag or flash rounds for police/riot control use. It also tends to not cycle properly in SA using anything but slugs and will regularly require manual cycling if you're trying to use lighter loads like bird shot etc.

The gun is actually a giant unwieldy piece of shit and is several pounds two heavy, and the hook then does nothing but get in the way of actually shooting it. No one is history has or ever will try and fire it one handed with that stupid hook out of a moving vehicle (???) like it was 'intended'.

Sure does look sick tho.
