Yeah if she’s used to working the LG interface probably easier than retraining. If she’s using a Roku stick with the LG may be just as easy to get the Roku?

That's what happened to me with my last TV buy 3 or 4 years ago. I was hellbent on getting a 65 inch LG G1, but nobody had it. A couple months went by of nobody knowing when they'd get them in, and the company itself not even knowing when the next round would ship, so I gave up and got the LG C1. Saved me about $1000 and ended up being pretty much everything I wanted anyway.
As for my mom's TV, I just picked up a 55" TCL QLED that looks much nicer than the other two I was looking at, bright colors and whatnot. About the same cost too ($299). All the TCLs looked really good, for a brand I've never heard of, given the budget pricing. Apparently they make their own parts in-house to cut costs.

C4 came yesterday. At 77 inches its too big lift out of the box and place it on the stand by myself.

Fast forward a few years and I finally got my G series TV. Probably a good thing I got the G5 instead of G1. It's a lot more advanced now and since it's the last TV I'm getting for a long time, I ended up with a better one.
The C1 was really good for a while but it wasn't a "forever TV".
I'm nervous about the stand for the G5. The TV seems a bit wobbly. I know this model is intended for wall mounting but I'm not doing that. I got the stand flush against it and hooked up correctly as far as I can tell. I guess these things just wobble.
Have a question, how does one get rid of these kinds of markings? The TV got smudged a lot while being moved around, even with me wearing gloves. It was laying down on a blanket for a bit and came away with a bunch of smudging from that too.
Not sure how to clean this without leaving more smudging and residue. It's a shame cause the TV was completely pristine all week until I started reorganizing and had to move it a few times.

Do they have what you want from Costco? Their delivery is usually free and they do a great job.
Last time I bought a TV off of Amazon was like 2008.
Yeah I would avoid. Costo usually has a 5 year warranty on their TV's and often at clearance right around now.

i did a few years ago, its not amazon, just a delivery service, but who knows now that they are so expanded now, also tvs are lighter than a few years ago too, you can goto a big box store and easily handle a 65in+ yourself, do you have suv or truck? remember tvs should be shipped upright

I have a friend with an SUV so that's not a problem. I saw Costco has the TV I want so I guess I'll just go there.

I bought an 85" TV from Amazon 2 years ago and it didn't turn out well although it could have been my fault. It came by freight rather than UPS/FedEx and the guy didn't want to bring a semi down my gravel road so I met him out at the highway and we put it in the back of my pickup lying down which I later found out you're not supposed to do. I got it home and turned it on to this....
Amazon was pretty good about taking it back but it was a hassle. I packed it back up and some guys actually came to my house to get it. I didn't tell them I hauled it the wrong way. No way to know if that's what broke it but it easily could have been. I decided to go to Costco instead because of the extended warranty even though the nearest Costco is 200 miles from me. I just stood it up in the middle of my pickup bed and put a bunch of straps on it and it made it home just fine.

And if you get the super anal by the book BestBuy employee they will follow / watch you out and load and if you lay it flat they will report your sale and S/N to the manufacturer to void the warranty.

My first job was a Circuit City warehouse employee and any time we had a customer who bought a big screen and wanted to put it on the roof of his miata we had to basically say "we won't do it but you're welcome to".
