Here is a list of cards i quickly made that'll be gone in standard:

1) Secret Paladin: creeper, minibot, muster, cockhammer, shredder, boom. Also loatheb and belcher.
2) Combo Druid: shade, shredder, loatheb, boom.
3) Patron: death's bite, boom. Also loatheb.
4) Renolock: chow, darkbomb, imp-losion, shredder, healbot, belcher, loatheb, boom.
5) Freeze Mage: mad scientist, healbot.
6) Zoo: creeper, egg, imp-losion, voidcaller, loatheb, boom, mal'ganis.
7) Control Warrior: death's bite, belcher, shieldmaiden, boom
8) Mid Hunter: creeper, mad scientist, shredder, boom, loatheb.
9) Tempo Mage: mad scientist, flamecannon, unstable portal.
10) Priest: chow, shrinkmeister, deathlord, velen's, dark cultist, belcher, lightbomb. Also boom.
11) Aggro shaman: just crackle. They will likely be godly in standard.

Won't do every deck it's out there, but this will be good enough to give a picture. The new expansion will surely have some replacement cards for the existing decks.

So I guess a big question is, will the expansion cards that get cut ever be put back into the rotation at some point or are they gone forever? IE if we don't care about wild are we safe to dust everything?

So, this adds a new wrinkle to crafting new cards. Decent/good neutral legendary from recent set, let's say Justicar Trueheart, vs ok niche legendary from classic, let's say Alexstraza or Bloodmage Thalnos.

Always craft classic first?

I suppose you could dust your collections, but just fyi, you'll be able to use your entire collection for future Adventures, so if you like getting the card backs you might wish you had some of the older cards to complete them.

Not collection related but apparently all cards will be available in Arena, which actually sucks imo since every expansion dilutes the card pool, but I guess some people would prefer not to face 4x Flamestrike mages every match, so idk.

Maybe in the future they re-release cards and you'll regret dusting but I doubt the technology is there yet

Probably, I'm actually kind of bummed since I've dusted a few classic legendaries that aren't very good now but with this new format could possibly see play in the future.

This patch will make Adventure cards able to be disenchanted. I wonder if the Legendaries will refund 800 dust or if Blizz will adjust the values of adventure cards.

I don't know how I feel about it either but I did expect it to go down this road. It's really only logical, the barrier of entry for the new player was getting to be absurd. I'd assume this is the standard progression of most TCG's though, no?

At first I was super excited about this, but then I took another look and the only legendaries I would dust would be Maexxna and maybe Rend.

So that's my list & reasoning. It's only like 9 cards, and most I don't want changed too much.
Well, based on your history of correctly predicting things, we can count on all those cards to remain unchanged.

Damn priest is getting fucking shafted. Obviously we hope the expansion will help every class, but we can't expect it.

Yea, there's really not much to dust, but we might see Standard-only players whom have no attachment to their collections and will dust everything. The added *free* dust you would get from adventures would certainly help jumpstart your next collection. If it's 5 legendaries per Adventure, that's 2.5 new legendaries in the next expansion.

Next year we will be losing BRM, LoE, and TGT. That's 10 Legendaries in Adventures, giving you 5 new legendaries in the 2017 expansion.

I personally won't be dusting anything just yet, but if I ever decide to go straight free-to-play then perhaps this becomes my future strategy.

One thing I just realized is I actually crafted Golden Belchers a month ago, now I'm sad.

Dragon Priest, Golden Monkey Priest/Entomb Priest... still fine

The more I think about it the more I can see a lot of people still playing wild mode. In a way its more hardcore too because you need a deep collection, so either a lot of time or money spent. I kinda wonder if this game really has the size playerbase to split in two like this, but I assume Blizz has crunched numbers enough to believe it will work. I guess there's always a ton of people playing casual already, but now there's two game modes for both casual and ranked, plus arena AND tavern brawl most days of the week. That's a lot of concurrent games to count on happening, but maybe I'm underestimating.

The can always add incentives to play different types thru card backs and quests.

Wild mode will be as popular as Casual imo simply because streamers will play Standard and the masses will follow, and also tournaments will be on Standard.

Wild be played for about a year until x expansion combos ridiculously with some of the old cards which will kill the entire thing completely i.e. secret paladin squared.
