My initial chunk of gold is just going to go towards packs, after that all my gold will be spent on arena entries.
Yeah, I'd blow everything but 300 gold on packs and then see how it goes. Somebody did the math that unlocking the whole set will take between 220 and 350 packs, so it will be quite the grind.

Jesus, this makes the barrier for new players to be competitive in ranked mode even higher.
Welcome to every CCG ever.

So I think this sorta snuck through under the radar yesterday.

Not like OMG AMAZING but very playable, and popping a shield block or shield maiden the turn after you drop this would be pretty amazing. Turn 7 and later it's effectively a 7/5, and if you manage to combo off a pair of armorsmiths with this on the field and it's GG.

If they allowed a choice of packs in arena, the problem would be somewhat mitigated. You still gotta deal with downranked assholes to get into arena though. Chaining arena entries isn't easy.

Some players were theorizing that Siege Engine only gains one attack per armor gaining event, not per point of armor gained. So, armorsmith + whirlwind would still be pretty nice, but shield block not so much.

That would make it much worse, although it would still combo just fine with armorsmiths.

There will always be demand for best deck made as cheap as possible, but yeah, if you want to be competitive, you should probably spend some cash or get really really good at arena.

It's confirmed that's how it works.

Some random thoughts.

For Druids I think Tree of Life is just a losing play almost every time. Maybe in tournament play, but that's a bad ladder play. I also think you should still always run at least 1 combo.

You want to wreck on ladder after it comes out? Find the fastest deck you possibly can and you're going to fucking stomp while everyone tries out all these dumb control decks. On the swing side of that, Priest is going to have a ridiculous quantity of anti-agro stuff so if it unexpectedly goes the agro side before the control side just breeze through with Priest.

Yeah I guess Siege Engine isn't really good enough for a spot given how fierce the competition for space in control warrior already is. I guess it would probably be too powerful if it was 1 atk for every point of armor you gain.

I think recombobulator is a sleeper hit from the set but it's a "nonbo" with sneed due to transform not triggering deathrattle, I'd like another 8 cost minion with no Battlecry/Death rattle to trigger and rag is the only choice.
You're right that the recombobulator could be a sleeper hit here, which was my intention obviously. And you're right that there isn't really an 8 drop to use the effect on unless Sneed's is silenced.

I would argue that the best targets to use Recombobulator on would be Ancient of Lore & Cenarius.

7 drops are one of the rarest mana costed cards and most of the new 7 mana drops are a much larger body than Ancient of Lore. So once you use the AoL battlecry you could easily combo with recombobulator on 9 mana to try for a bigger body.

7 Drops:
Archmage Antonidas
Barron Geddon
Prophet Velen
Ancient of Lore
Ancient of War
Ravenholdt Assassin
Core Hound
Guardian of Kings
Stormwind Champion
War Golem
Dr. Boom
Flame Leviathan
Gahz'rilla
Malorne
Neptulon
Troggzor the Erthinator

9 drops are even rarer, and almost all of them are much better than Cenarius as a body on board. Only Lord Jaraxxus would probably be considered as worse.

After using Cenarius for his battlecry (probably for the taunts), if he sticks around a turn, or if you have innervate, you could recombob for something else:
9 Drops:
Mal Ghanis
Mekgineer Thermaplugg
Alexstraesza
Cenarius
King Krush
Lord Jaraxxus
Malygos
Nozdormu
Onyxia
Ysera

The Dream: Mal Ghanis / Krush / Ysera

My favorite clarification on there is that if you kill something with auchenai + light of the naaru you get a lightwarden.

If you Faceless a Malorne then kill the Face malorne and he gets shuffled back, Do you draw him as a Marlorne or a Faceless?

Recombobulate on a Sea Giant you played on the cheap. 50% chance of Deathwing. If only priests had a good way to flood the board.

You'd draw Malorne. Faceless Manipulator is a transformation, not a buff. Kinda like how when you silence a Druid of the Claw in bear form, it becomes a 4/6, not a 4/4 like the original card, because it transforms into a new card.

Gotta bet someone's going to try a sea giant + recombobulate deck. LOL. That's some funny shit.
