That sort of metric is nigh useless at a national level. Real Estate / Housing is one of the most regional things, such that two adjacent square miles can have wildly different results.

If I had to guess, for the past couple of years we've been in a period where even more than usual, activity is segregated to a certain minority of regions or sub-regions. Makes national numbers look one way and then you look around your local area and wonder "wtf?"

Yep. Very regional. I was looking at one of these weird modern “big country” things when I was looking in 4/2020. If not this exact one (under construction at the time), the one next to it.

Here's more pictures of whatever style you call this. The materials are all top notch, at least when I was over there last. https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/3631-Bitterroot-Cv-Bentonville-AR-72712/2083508606_zpid/

There is no house in my area that goes for sale that is on the market more than three days. It's ridiculous. People ask $400K and get offers for $475K over night.

I mentioned it a while back, but there was an approximately 1600 sqft trailer in Orange Beach close to my mother-in-law's place that was renting for $2400 like 3 years ago.

I get it though, which is why we want to build there. It's got a 28 mile bike/backcountry trail system, tons of beach shit, restaurants galore, events at places like The Hangout (even music festivals), The Wharf (summer concerts), Florabama, and OWA (which is also an amusement park), it's got outlet malls in Foley for those who like shopping. And it's still small enough to feel like a little beach town.

I'm hoping we can find a couple builders to talk to in the next few months. Even though it's a shit time to be building, and trying to sell our current house.
