You may remember I had to report a contractor to the state for fucking with me. I got the contractors official response today and it was 100% all lies, to a comical level. I mean I don't think they got to see my evidence. Just responded to the complaints. They don't know I provided pictures, contracts, all text messages and emails, and evidence of shady/illegal things they did regarding permits.

But the part that chapped my ass...

I complained that they threw away my AC line covers and rerouted the lines. They completely changed where it went under the stairs. They claimed it was already like that.

Now how do I prove that's not true? I mean I have pictures but still, burden is on me. But look at this fuckin picture. Whether the mediator buys my story is anyone's guess but .... Lol

Considering everything else and how it is ugly as fuck anyone with half a brain would believe you. establish early that If it was easier and uses less material it was done.

I thought we had a workshop thread, but i guess not. Just finished finally building a shed out back and that cleared a bunch of nonsense I was storing in my workshop (i.e. garage). So installed an additional workbench, now to put some shelves above it. It's the one on the right, adding to the existing work area on the left.

And yes I know it's messy as hell, clearing/cleaning that is this weekends project. The right workbench/area will be for mold prep and other things for my metalcasting, the right will be for post processing of cast items and general workshop work. The garage/workshop is a 20x20 detached garage on our house.

I'll be dropping a shop vac with dust catcher in that open space under the right side of the bench, so eventually a small CnC will go in there as well.

That's my hope too. It's just so egregiously retarded looking. Why would I have that track going under the top stair and then you route it under a stair below. I mean I know why..

Hell, I figured that'd looked pretty clean for a workspace.

Except in my case it was "When guys have to do their first real DIY project". For me that was driving to Atlanta in my distant past taking my at the time GF to her college for the semester. She was living in her sorority house, had a room, we get there and she wants some kind of elevated bunk over desk bed setup. I put it together in my head with 2x4s and plywood fast enough, and a couple of her hallmates had similar setups. But I had no tools. So we went to get wood and I knew I needed a saw and drill at minimum. We got lumber at home depot, so I grabbed the starter ryobi kit. (mind you this was the mid 90's when they were still a teal-ish color, and had just introduced 18v tools) and my proverbial house was set from that point forward. Should be noted that the reciprocating saw from that bundle is still on the wall in that pic directly under the box fan and still a little workhorse.
I'll admit if I did a full tool reset now I'd very possibly go Dewalt though. But I have so many I'm kinda "pot committed" to borrow a poker term.

I have been tracking on the Craftsman v20 lineup - I have been happy with all the products I have from them.

They are red, so that goes with milwaukee lol - at work my assistant director calls all the craftsman stuff (as I get it at work also) fake / generic milwaukee- I am like Crafsman is not generic!

I'm in the exact same boat. All my old tools were Porter-Cable. I had real good luck with their contactor tools in the electrical field at work. I don't even know if they still make battery tools anymore but that was what Lowes had at the time. Move to the new state /town and we only have Home Depot. Going back to my work experience, every DeWalt tool we bought spent as much time in the shop being repaired as it did in the field so I bought Ryobi. This was at the time where you HAD to buy the battery with the tool so I'm Ryobi until the end.

Sticking with dewalt myself, so far only one impact failed (the compact one, normal one has been fine)and I beat the shit out of them daily in nasty environments.
Co-worker using Milwaukee and same, I do like his impact better because it is lighter and the battery is smaller. Pick a battery economy and stick with it they all expensive as fuck.

All my guys here in Nevada had Milwaukee gear, including tool boxes/cases. Looked good no idea how it is to use.

Just want you all to know I want to kill someone.

After the huge debacle with the deck. The report. The 2nd contractor. The shoddy work.

This.

What the hell did I do to piss God off.

Not evident in pics but part of the deck got crushed and the pool edge got crushed.

Might wanna check the security cams for disgruntled-contractor-tree-sabotage! (mostly kidding... but maybe still check though)
