The outdoor compressor is beside the one for my main central AC, they ran the lineset & interconnect cables up the wall in a channel with a paintable cap and caulked it all closed. Very clean install. When it's not 114 all the time I may try to paint it outside, or I may not. It looks fine. The inside part is mounted on the wall above one of my shelves full of Lego models.


EDIT: found a decent pic of the inside unit from the install. I was taking random pics in case I needed to take legal action about install. Years as a PM have made me think like a lawyer half the damn time.

The company that is going to install them is committed to a ten year service plan at a reduced rate and not increase more than a (very reasonable) amount if necessary. I actually feel pretty good about going this direction.

Living in Florida, it always strikes me as odd that there are places with heat only.

But they also in turn would think it deadly to have a home with no heat.

A lot of the older schools here (Montana) don't have air conditioning. Most of the school year it's not necessary but the first couple of weeks of school really sucked some years.

I grew up in eastern NC and the only school I went to that had AC was the high school. Now we did go to school late as some of the kids worked bringing in tobacco (before it was decided it was poison) but it fucking SUCKED being in the un-air conditioned schools with all that humidity.
