If I remember right the guy had a rock gareden and painted the walkway to the front door and the rocks pink as well. I did notice the guys parents didn't live on the same street as him.

I'm not a HOA person but I can't believe in Austin or around Austin they got away with it, HOAs are everywhere. I have read of places that your outside paint scheme has to be approved and such. Surpriserd someone doesn't use a pre approved color and make it glow in the dark paint.

When we had our house painted a couple years back now there were consistent social pressures around the neighborhood to paint the brick too, and go to the "white with black trim, like an inside out fridge" look, or the "light gray, on gray, with gray accents" look.

Instead we paid a color consultant to come out, match up our brick color (a light salmon pink-ish) and make recommendations instead. We still ended up liking a color call, I shit you not, "Super Greige". But mostly because we had to match the saturation of the woodwork to the saturation level of the brick and we love it.

Our rooms internally are mostly colorful. Front office/computer room is Yellow walls with red (think reverse Flash tribute room), game/poker room is traditional dark green, our bedroom is peach, guest bathroom is a lightly more saturated then sky blue level of blue, Mrs. Haus Mrs. Haus "she shed" room (Bedroom converted to library) is light purple. It all works well, and I will not be answering questions at this time.

Are there guides or something to help people who have no idea how to decorate/paint their living space? I've basically just thrown up pictures in some places where the size of the frame kind of at least fit the size of the space, but beyond that my walls are bare as shit and still the same city loft off white color they were painted when it was built. I have no clue what to actually do with it to try to get the feeling that the place is actually a home and is lived in by human beings.

I don't know about guides, but there are millions of pictures on the interwebs. I always just Google image search what I'm thinking about, like "dark wood floor, green walls, white trim" and look for something I like. It pulls up tons of pictures from Pinterest, Redidt, Facebook, Instagram, etc.

Hmm color consultant. That confirms my suspicion , Haus Haus is a 'mo.
My 'color consultant' is my wife. Or all the walls would be grey, DARK grey.
Of course you don't want to answer questions, what's his name and how long is he?

Yeah, if you have a wife, just do what she wants because when it comes down to it, who really gives a fuck what color the walls are?

Sort of a ramble but:

My first house I was a single person. I had my sister in law (Brother's wife) help me choose colors , and by that I mean I let her pick them and I employed veto power if she went too gay. I like earth tones so no biggie.

Then my house floods out. 100% of the flooring , except the ceramic tile I put in my kitchen was trashed and had to come out. I do the homeowner insurance thing they handle it all. I'm in Myrtle Beach and used a company that was used in my construction job to do fire/water/smoke remediation. Now I have to pick out carpet & flooring. Shit shit shit, take my secretary with me to pick it out , same thing I employ veto power.

She picks it out , of course it has to be ordered , life goes on. To give you an idea of how busy I was , the night my house flooded I found out at 11PM as I'd been working all day trying to get 2 ocean front condos ready at the same time and just went to bed. Next morning I gave my secretary my house keys and told her to call my insurance and let me know when they got there.

I get a call , the carpet you picked is back ordered. Well my secretary was also a kidney stone manufacturing machine and she was out with one again. So I go to pick new carpet , hell how hard can it be. I go ......that one. The hot chick says ''ooooh you like shag carpet too' nice we have this in stock. I said 'nope' and called my Sister in law. I suck, but no color consultants.

That was my girlfriends department and like said I had veto power since I owned the house. Only thing I wanted was really light colored walls in my detached office since I work at home. I have a 4' tall by 6' tinted glass set in a wall like a window. Someone gave me the glass and I just fit it in when building the office, keeps it light inside and I can see out to the national forest which my view is just pine trees.

Same with cars. Same with clothes. Same with “fill in the blank”. The world is mostly mindless sheep.
Yeah, don't get me started on "Nardo" colored cars...
