About 1.5 years ago I reported our deck contractor to the state because of a lot of reasons including:
1. Falsifying his license status
2. Breach of contract including not pulling permits
3. Reclaiming materials from my yard when I fired him
Tomorrow is a hearing with the state where I get to testify and he may be fined, lose his current license, and be barred from getting a new license.
This is the first step in the process. If he is found in violation I can then pursue financial claims against him.

Thanks. From what I read they don't really schedule hearings unless they identify potential violations in the report, so I feel like I went the right path.

He built the deck platform on top of like temporary dangerous supports. It wasn't the right height or the right dimensions. The guy that ended up fixing it said it was the most backwards ass thing he's ever seen.

Old fence built by previous owner toed in and spaced weird, hated it and now I get to do what I want. Got all the posts and concrete up, was a row of older posts next to posts and just a massive amount of concrete. Sucked but we moving now.

What's funny is when I hired him I read some thing about stuff contractors say to get out of doing work everyday and the top result was their kid was sick. He pulled that shit nonstop.
He's gonna get fucked today. I just reviewed their exhibits and they are blaming me for a whole bunch of stuff i.was supposed to do that is clearly labeled in the contract that they need to do them.
