I will not disclose the amount of annoyance and strained muscles and joints we got flinging around those slabs of wood, (especially with the added weight of the desk frames attached.)

But I'm happy with the outcome, the wife is happy with the outcome, so I'm taking my win where I can get it. ;)

He's over in the side hutch at the moment. He'll probably find his way back under the monitors soon enough. He was a free gundam kit I got at the Hobby Lobby booth at San Japan. It was "sit down and enjoy a beginner snap together kit for free", so I did... Rated for ages 6 and up, so only took me.... well.. it doesn't matter how long it took me.

I had a game room with yellow walls because the house I bought had them painted that way and I was lazy, what's your excuse?

Also , looks good buddy.

It was originally supposed to be a more muted, less saturated, yellow. This is a room on the north side of the house so gets very little direct sun. Trying to brighten it up a little. Somehow the little paint sample I had did not end up looking like the color as mixed for the painters and we ended up with the "Reverse Flash Tribute Room". This paint was done around 16 years ago, when the original Ikea desk was put in...

It's not horrible, but we are about to have to do some minor drywall touchups at some point (Thanks Texas soil and foundations..) And repainting the room is on deck for then. Haven't locked in the new color yet.

I will also give the cheap ass old Ikea desk it's due, those hollowcore laminated desktop slabs held up for over 15 years and only in the last couple started showing real signs of wear and age.

Last 2 PC desks I had were commercial office furniture, one was just the U-shape ends from a desk piece I rigged at right angles to each other, the one I have now was $1,300 before shit got crazy , not sure what it would be now if you even find it. I was sitting in my bosses office one day looking at his desk, and thinking hmmmm. Asked him if I could measure it and now I have one just like it.

This project landed somewhere around $800 total. $99 a pop for the 4 slabs (Floor and Decor, Hevea), $100 for the sealant (arm-r-seal, I HIGHLY recommend), $120 for the pop up charger/power + charging cables and integrated charger, $80 for that side hutch, and some for sealing supplies, sandpaper, random shit. (Had to get a hole saw bit big enough for the pop up charger)

But it's something I really wanted, and pending the durability of the motors in the desk frame should hopefully last me well past my working days.
