I have the WiiM Pro Plus 2 (https://a.co/d/7Churbp), which gets fed via music from my plex library. I send the digital signal straight to my Schitt Modius. As it's only purpose is to send music to my external dac, it does that job well. The phone app is ok. It's very basic and can feel a bit convoluted. However, at that price point you can't expect much.
Are you planning to connect the computer to the WiiM or connect your WiiM to the computer? I use it as a network attached device via the rj45 jack. You can connect the rca cables from it to your Schitt stack. I might be able to help more if I could better understand your situation.
My goal at the outset was to find a pair of powered speakers that would replace my current Klipsch 2.1 Pro Media. There are very very many such speakers, but after reading some reviews and many sound demo's via youtube (good recordings), I narrowed that list down to Klipsch The Fives, KEF LSX II Lt (and now Kanto Tuk/YU6). From that list, I kinda liked the KEF, but it had one drawback... only digital inputs, so I couldn't use the RCA outs from my Schiit stack. So that led to me to start searching for some device that would take a USB-C connection from my PC and between to send the signal to either the Schiit stack and the KEF (my PC doesn't have an optical out sadly).
Ah. I see. Looks like the Kantos and KEFs have dacs built into the speakers. If you want to use your Schitt stack, you're right, the Kanto's will be the way to or really any powered speakers with analog inputs, so you can bypass their dac. My apologies if you already knew all this. The WiiM is a streamer. If you're connecting these speakers to your computer you don't need the WiiM in the middle. Your Schitt stack probably has much better dac than the WiiM too.
I like the Kanto YU6 sound. It's a little bit warm and I think makes for good music listening.
That would cover most of your home theater needs, since not a lot of audio tracks use the rear speakers in streaming, though it's super cool when they do. That being said you will need something to power those and if it's for home theater you may end up wanting a subwoofer. Try it with out one first though if you want to keep the budget down.

The second link is really legit. Works good for stereo listening too. You will probably want the sub with it though and that costs extra. Their 3D imaging is probably the best in the business.
Once you pay for the receiver and all the speakers, the price is fairly comparable, too. With these you don't need cables either. The only thing I worry about are interruptions in the connection if you have too much signal interference in the area.
Yeah it's one of the few home theater in a box solutions I actually have considered. It got really good reviews from Andrew Robinson.
