It's a really interesting movie. Very weird and they did retro correctly so it wasn't just a gimmick. The story is brutal when you get to the end and reflect on what the poor guy went through for his horrible wife but it's also a bit self-reflective about that and that's part of the horror. You can see where the kernel of the idea for the story came from as things progress, they even directly reference it within the movie.

It's a lot less "Men Bad" and more "Women never satisfied" in my interpretation but it does have a feminist angle to a lot of things so that might sully the experience for people,

Incredibly well made, good for Shudder for continuing to display quality. Incredibly well acted. The 70s style and atmosphere were well done and not just tacked on for retro points. Story is really good, has undertones but it also counterpoints them, up to a point. Not a waste of time to check out, mildly rewatchable too.
