I feel like the long term psychological horror of this from the kids perspective would be far more interesting then the movie.

like the kid being given the evil ice cream. its addictive, and shuts off all remorse, empathy, etc. everyone knows kids can be monsters. some kids give in quickly to impulses and instructions. protag kid lasts a bit longer. but eventually also gives in and takes part. Blood bath..
but then we see the heroes/survivors from the perspective of the protag kid, as they kill the demon icescream man.

and then, time skip, and the movie is now about that kid now as a teenager, or 20 something having been cured, but having to live with the horrible shit they did to their parents, sister, etc.
and the Demon icescream man returns or something.

Cabin Fever and Hostel were very profitable relative to their budget but they're not good movies. Going through his IMDB it's pretty bad. I had forgotten he was the director for that dreadful Borderlands movie.

Both of them were entertaining though. I saw both in the theaters back in college. Cabin fever was pretty hilarious, specifically pancakes. There were lots of good setups and payoffs joke wise throughout the movie. And he kind of played out the same sort of thing with Hostel, but not long after he was labeled a "master of horror", even hosted some sort of show because he was an expert on horror movies, and all of the marketing for his subsequent films was following that same trajectory.

Master of nothing but the coin clipping.

I know what Dr.Boll would do with people like him...
