I hope everyone votes yes because they don't understand equities markets, the stock tanks, and then we have a case study to dunk on people about why billionaires don't have all their wealth in cash and the idea that they can just liquidate it all without destroying everything is retarded.

Yea, no timeline on his sell though. Would be absolutely hilarious if he just dumped 10% all at once.

Then Michael Burry would probably kill himself. (Burry - of the Big Short fame - announced a Tesla short position sometime this year and likely got crushed. He recently announced he had exited that short position. No disclosure on losses though.)

This is ALWAYS TRUE! I hope you get out of this line of thinking for your own sake. You are parroting the ideas of perpetual failures. For someone just this year who was "fairly new to stocks" sure have become confident quickly. We can go find other zogs years back in this very thread saying the exact same stuff thousands of S&P points ago. Doesn't mean the market is not overbought in the short term, but I promise you the entire way you are thinking about these things is going to hurt your returns over time. Not busting on you, it's completely human and very common.

If his portrayal in the movie is the least bit accurate, I'm not sure Burry is entirely human so he's probably just jotting all of it down as another interesting data point in all of this weird math problem called "existence".

Not to be condescending, but not everyone is built for this. Hell, I'm not sure I'm cut out for this. The jury is still out. Some people need to let other people manage their money for them. Because if you are sitting their thinking the market is going to crash, and it goes the other way, you just cost yourself. Opportunity cost is a bitch.

Please don't take this the wrong way.

Time to short Tesla?

Edit: Looks like about 1 billion shares outstanding, and he owns 193 million.

So we're looking at only about 2% of outstanding shares. Average volume looks to be about 20 million a day, too. So effectively doubling that. Not sure it'll be the cataclysmic event I was hoping for, but interesting still.

Anyone here use the desktop ThinkOrSwim? If so, do you have problems with the chart scaling getting screwed up as you switch between different time frames? Really gd annoying, but maybe I'm missing something.
