You got assigned early? We all know it can happen but its always balls when it does.

I play a ton of options and it happens at least once a month to me. Sometimes it’s not a big deal because my options play was such that I would have money anyway. Other times it’s annoying as fuck when I play a spread and when I check my positions I show down like 600k because I was forced to buy my short put position and I still hold the other side of the spread. Still to this day catches me off-guard.

Kind of random but a year or two ago, I had a covered call for a ticker that expired .02 cents in the money.

Monday, I find out my shares weren't called away. Ticker proceeded to collapse, and I had to take on losses.

Ameritrade didn't care. Scumbag industry all around..

That can happen as well, but more rare obviously. People can call and express a DNE(do not exercise) on options. Only reasons I can imagine are

  1. Option in ITM but you dont have funds to exercise
  2. Option is ITM but you paid for more than the difference and for some reason both didn't sell the option and don't want the underlying, perhaps due to 1? So you just take the loss of whatever premium you paid.

So.... I got a good sized commission check today. It's bolstered up my "cash puddle" which I've been holding looking for a good insertion point in the market. Right now the lazy option would be, of course, dropping it into something like $XLK or $ITOT. Just wonder what the general feel from strangers on the interwebs was as to if our current little push down is finding a bottom yet?

Here's my left side of the curve opinion. Global liquidity is picking up (mostly from China printing) so it will probably goose the markets fairly soon. I tend to think Trump wants a set up where he can force rates lower so seeing some more market carnage is one way to make that happen. He only has so long to "break" stuff and blame Biden. Pulling all of the Gov spending they've been cutting is going to drain a lot of money out of the economy which should result in pain.

I'd say we have a little ways to go still personally, but I'm TA illiterate.

With these leveraged trades, can they be tracked to a wallet like a regular trade? Because the timing with Trump's strategic reserve announcement, the timing is a bit suspect.

I actually don’t know how leverage works with coins to be honest. I mean conceptually I get it but I’m not clear on if you actually own the coins like you would own the stock in a margin account or if it’s some type of Bitcoin options type play. Never really got heavy into trading coins regularly and if I did it was simple but/sell or trying to ride whatever next pump and dump was. Effort to profit wasn’t worth the insanely high risk.

it’s honestly a pretty smart play depending on how long. It’s pretty clear BTC is going to just vanish, it’s becoming too widespread. I don’t think the question is if it goes away I think it’s more of how will it actually be used in the real world and what does that mean for its value. I’m pretty long on BTC as well but I don’t operate at 100 mil level lol.

in fact other than individual lucky plays last year, all my BTC related positions are up the most.

I can’t speak to ETH much

This has been brought up before. There is already another metric for measuring GDP without gov jobs. Of course shutting off the money printer will make things look worse. But it’s still needed to balance the scales of the world.
