It was the predecessor of the Max (737-800) with a good track record. Of note is that this happened during cruising which from my reading is quite rare.
Edit: this does make me start wondering how susceptible aircraft are to being hacked in flight (if at all).

Cruise lines may be in for ugliness for years to come. They took on so much debt to survive that combined with a high inflation/recession environment may prove deadly for some of them.
