Nasdaq futures not looking pretty. Amd hard to believe it's earnings season already.

Eh, futes down half a percent. This has happened repeatedly in recent weeks, only for the dip buyers to push us back into green by market close.

The TACO conviction is strong these days. No one believes any of this will stick.
Aaaand we're green on all the indexes.

I fucking hope so. I've been in total market funds forever, and for the last half decade they just feel like a drag on my portfolio. Kept considering switching to an S&P or QQQ type fund, but figured the smaller guys would eventually get their due.

The money is fake and as a result a large number of publicly traded companies survive only on passive flows from the indexes. Personally I wouldn't hold total market because such a large % of companies are walking dead. Winners are consolidating IMO as we get to the end of the road with current monetary regime. How that looks after the transition I dunno, but I wouldn't bet on bad companies being revitalized during creative destruction. My 2c

MP up another 20% this morning on this news
edit: +30%

Fuck MP. I bought and held that for a few years and sold it a few weeks ago on a whim cause it wasn’t doing much. Still made 30% or so on it but would’ve been 120% today if I hadn’t done that. Fuckers.

I sold mine when it hit the 30s a while back. Totally forgot I had bought some for my daughter's custodial account (along with PLTR) so never sold it. Needless to say, her account is having a pretty damn good year so far.

PLTR is now ranked #26 in the US in market cap. It is one spot behind HD. It ranks above companies you may have heard of like CVX, KO, BAC and ABBV. Oh and its PE is now 650.

Not buying more when it dipped below IPO price will be one of my lifelong regrets.

2nd to buy buying Darden when it bottomed during COVID. My best friend managed a high end restaurant and told me he was delivering orders to keep the restaurant afloat. I knew it would rebound after the lockdown, I just didn't want to commit any cash I had cause I was afraid of losing my job. Darden dropped to $26 and was back to 163 6 months later.

It has massive government involvement now and will basically be contracted to do all the domestic spying fuckery the CIA/MIC can't do "legally".

I sold 15079 shares at $73 when it hit a stop I had set. 8 months later and those shares are worth 7 figures more than what I made.

Oh well.
