My uncle was basically john candy. He was the funny uncle, jolly uncle, the crazy uncle and like uncle buck, was really one who cared and loved and was the best. My uncle also died young, so John Candy has an odd little spot in my heart because of that.

Love John Candy. Kinda weird they are dropping this 30 years after he died. Anyone under 35 probably has no clue who he is lol.

I was a kid when he died, I feel like he died and everyone just stopped talking about him.

After Chris Farley OD'd, and Phil Hartman was murdered they continued to be talked about, but for some reason everyone acted like Candy didn't exist

It's probably just the circles you ran or run with.

Most people I talk to when the topic of comedians or great movies or actors that have died Farley and Candy are always brought up. John Candy was a favorite of mine as a teenager and still is to this day. Same with Farley.

Candy was in far more of my favorite movies. Not that Home Alone is a big part, but shit, I watch that and Planes once a year, every year. And I'll watch Summer Rental, Great Outdoors, Stripes, and Uncle Buck basically any time they're on.

Tommy Boy is the only movie I'll regularly catch from Farley. I feel like the bulk of his work was on SNL.

Even Camp Candy, the zero budget Saturday morning cartoon that John Candy was on, was watchable as a kid. That's more than you can say for a lot of similar products.

Was nice to watch. Candy was warm, charming and generally ebullient. Love him

Man, they all look so young. I didn't even realize Joe Flaherty was on SCTV. I've been rewatching Freaks and Geeks this past week for the first time since it aired. Pretty sad that every single person from the show is either already dead or in their late 70s.

Dave Thomas in the trailer made me go, holy shit Dave got really old. I think the last thing I remember seeing him in regularly was Grace Under Fire in the 90s.
