Been using a BenQ zowie for about 5 or 6 years now after continually breaking death adders and Logitech g pro wireless. My favorite mouse.

Anyone tried the wireless version?

I particularly like BenQ because it's all hardware and no extra software.

Taking a shot with a Pulsar X2H v3 mini. I'll post back after I've used it for a few days.

Does anyone have input on a new mouse? It would be replacing the original Logitech G5 mouse from the early 2000's. The thing has been a champ, but I think it's time for an upgrade. Are there any brands I should avoid or look into? I don't need anything super fancy; it'll be used for just normal gaming and light office work.

If you haven't replaced your mouse in 20 years, then just be prepared for everything to suck. They might seem nice at first, but even if you get a pricy one, you'll still need to replace it (or its switches) in a year or two.

Yea, that's what I'm afraid of. I've read that Logitech's quality has gone down hill or I would just get whatever G5 equivalent they offer now. Although if everyone else is in the same boat I might just do that.

I have two Logitech MX Masters and one of them is about 11 years old. Still works great.

I have a Redragon 991 that I quite like. It wasn't expensive and you don't have to load a program every time you want to change a light. They are available on Amazon.

I use the "Kensington Expert Wireless Trackball Mouse" but didn't mention it since most people hate trackballs. The first one I had (wired) many years ago lasted forever until the cord finally gave out. Since I replaced it, they last a year or two before the switches start to crap out. I've tried a few other similar ones, and they've either been bad enough that I didn't want to keep using them or they died even faster. Literally just had one start getting wonky last week and tried two China versions (not that many similar things on the market unfortunately). One had problems out of the box, and the other worked ok but didn't like the form factor for some actions, so another Kensington is on the way.

The wife likes the Redragon mice, but they seem to fail pretty quickly either due to switches or battery life. They're cheap enough though that we just consider them disposable now. I use their keyboards and generally like the feel, though I've had a couple die after a year or so. There aren't too many keyboards that have reasonable backlighting and are wireless though, so I keep buying them. My latest versions have held up pretty well (one for home and work), but they seem to have some occasional signal issues that cause missed or doubled keypresses. Rare enough that I haven't thrown them out yet, but it's pretty annoying.

I bought it. For $30, I'll try a wireless gaming mouse. I really didn't want to pay $100+ for a wireless mouse. If it lasts, great! If not I'll move on to something a bit more. I was looking at the Logitech G502 wired version since it's on sale for $40 right now.

Control Control Yea, my mouse cord is taped up because a section of the braided cable has worn out from rubbing up against the edge of the desk over the years. It didn't cause any issues thankfully. Now, several weeks ago my mouse will randomly disconnect and reconnect with the computer. I'm figuring it's the mouse acting up due to its age.

My son got a very cheap reddragon mouse a year or two ago and a few months later, I heard him raging in his room. Come to find out it failed on him during a fortnite match. I blamed him for treating is stuff like crap and went to five below and bought him a super cheap $5 mouse. Lol

Lanx Lanx that's an interesting design. I would be tempted to try something like that just out of curiosity.

I know this doesnt help. But my Corsair Scimtar Elite Wireless left click would double click with just one press. I put it to the side and bought a razer naga pro v2 or w/e. Works great, but for the price - I would hope so. Anyways - I was on this one website looking for a type of power cable for my PC build last year and found the switch for the Scimtar. Watched the youtube video on how to replace the switch, and it was easy enough. Now.. I think my Scimtar Pro works better than it did brand new and I prefer that one over my Razer.

Neither, afaik. That little chip looking thing looked like it came directly out of the factory in China. It was labeled as a replacement for the mouse and was like 3.99 or something. lol

Yea they're expensive but I was going off the "will need to be replaced in a year or two" thing, those seem pretty durable based on my usage.
I may be harder on mice than average of course, but over the years I've had the same problem with a couple of top end Logitechs and Razors. /shrug It feels like at some point a few years ago everyone swapped over to the same shitty switches, regardless of how expensive the mouse itself was. I should really check into switch replacement.
