NGL, that Trailer has me at least wanting to watch it. Which is a big step up from anything released before that regarding this series.....

My concern is, somebody is going to look at that opening scene with the father testing his child, and think that was so cool. I feel like there could have been a better way to show abuse and how it trained fear out of a child.
The show does look like it is not holding back. Honestly it is refreshing to see. This might well end up becoming the best thing DC has put out. Ironic given the blunder of the Green Lantern movie.

I am going to have to watch a few more episodes. It had some funny moments but *Sigh*, I hate time jumping in a story.
I believe the father who shot apples, is an alien. It would explain a lot. That being said, can a protector not be indigenous to the planet? Obviously the son would be unaware, for now. I am sure there will be a lot of flash backs to explain some holes.

mixed feelings after ep1. the amount of "fucks" in the dialog and the new lantern to be getting fucked in his truck, cloths on though, means I won't ask my 14 year old to watch any more of this.
Hal seems to be playing more Guy Gardner. my dad grew up on green lantern and says he's not following the charter. he's 75 and was religious w/ those comics as a kid.
i'll keep watching only to keep current and be able to chat w/ my dad about it. otherwise I'd probably wait and binge after the season's over if the reviews were good

I don't keep up with comics much anymore and less so with DC, but I am pretty sure they turned Hal Jordan into an asshole for a time. Also he was a Villain as well, which they could be setting him up for.

Seemed pretty terrible to me. Especially for the pilot. Hardly any special effects. Just a lot of people going from one room to another having conversations. "Aliens" who look exactly like regular people.
Jon Stewart is very odd looking. He looks like a Klingon or an Orc. If anyone on the show looks like an alien it's him. He's also playing the super serious no humor mr spock lol.
And his dad is Willam Tell? Lmao!
The love scene was fucking ridiculous. Not only was it him with some ugly 50 year old big nosed Indian, it consists of them moaning and dry humping in a truck with all their clothes on for 15 seconds?
On HBO? People are comparing this crap to True Detective? Again lol! This show is fucking terrible.
Is the cop lady even an actress or is it that dumb lady from the Verizon commercials?

This was the worst part of the episode. It made no sense to include this scene, save to remind viewers this was not normal programming. Add to the fact that it was horribly done.
