oh, I just realized Tom King is writing this. This show is Dead on Arrival.

Co-creator, writers, executive producer.

I can't begin to state how bad King is. how much damage he has done to DC comics. Ruined multiple characters forever.
Giant piece of crap. Sad sack, suicidal, obsessed with his mom.

Supergirl:woman of tomorrow as also his. heroes in crisis. the guy is pure cancer.

Hes so terrible as a comics writer. I have no clue how he was the one they chose to adapt movies.

I was expecting cheezy fucking big green hammers and shit mostly and pleasantly surprised there isn't any. Not much action, but it's episode 1 they're introducing characters and starting the plot and intrigue. Anytime episode one has a big fucking action sequence or something, dipshits just go "EPISODE 1 HAD SO MUCH ACTION WHY DIDN'T 2-7!!!!" There's no winning.

Dialogue wasn't awful and I like Hal as a jaded pro. John is emotionless, but I guess that's his thing. I did laugh at the "grandpa" and "grandma" probably being 10-15 years old their their son and daughter, but hey it is bumfuck nowhere so I guess that's possible!

So in 2016 Hal was still the only Green Lantern for sector 2814 but by 2026 it was him and Guy Gardner? Hal being Green Lantern since 1986 is pretty wild though. By that timeline he would have been on duty when Superman's ship landed... so why the heck didn't his 'alien incursion alert' go off then?

Superman came out in 1939. So he would have crashed around 1909 or some shit.

Lindelof is one of the Creator's and an EP and he likes deconstruction of the genre which either works or doesn't on taste. Rest of em are all True Detective S1 vets so the tone is not Superman 2025, its more Watchmen TV show. Its miles better then that shit movie, and this isn't pretending to be a show for kids.

It works for me, but the show isn't afraid to show the flaws the characters have. Hate is a strong word, but i also think Drinker is a drunk grifter so IDK lol. Try an episode.

I mean turning every white male into a fuck up and every other person into the hero gets pretty old. Regardless of their intentions. I'll check it out for myself though.

Hal is not a fuck up in this. He is jaded as fuck and that is something we are going to learn about why as the show goes on.

Hal has been fucked with as a character for the last 30 years. Guy Gardner has always been my favorite Lantern. John Stewart is kind of a boring lantern.

Forgot to reply to this the lady playing the cop/sheriff (cannot recall) is an Irish actress who was in Boardwalk Empire for one and a few shows/movies. She does seem to always play the same sad helpless woman though.
