It's going to be more of a horror movie compared to the other Mummy installments.

They still have another Mummy universe movie alongside this that's more of a prequel to the original movies, but it's far out.

Did a stellar lil Irish horror called Hole in the Ground, which I highly recommend and nailed the Deadites in Evil Dead Rise. Why his name is on it IDK but hes a very good atmospheric horror filmmaker, so I'd be interested in seeing a trailer atleast.

I remember seeing it in college. We had a good time for a popcorn adventure. The second one was terrible though. CGI Rock was pretty hilariously bad. Wasn't their a third one with some Chinese shit? I think there was but I never saw it, or maybe I'm vaguely remembering something else.

2nd one had a story but they tried too hard to build a mummy universe with spinoff potential, 3rd was a full cash grab attempt with Jet Li + China, and then the Tom Cruise remake was a cash grab combined with an attempt to make a monster universe. Rachel Weisz was smart enough to decline the 3rd film but she also had a kid right before so she had personal reasons to stay away on top of how awful it was.

The finale where imhotep kills himself after anuk- su-namun abandons him, while Evie and o'connell rescue each other, is great... even if it makes zero sense.

She killed the Pharoah for him. She Killed HERSELF the first time to be with him. her undead soul was resurrected and killed in the first one.. then her body is resurrected, and her soul merged in the second one by Imhotep... so why the fuck would she leave him to die this time? Bitch was shown to be pretty far into ride or die with him.

That's right, I forgot jet li was in it.

I saw the Tom Cruise one and it's pretty dumb but I was kind of interested in seeing what they were going to do with their Dark universe or whatever the hell it was called. We were supposed to get a Depp invisible man, werewolf, Frankenstein, even a Creature from the Black lagoon, and I'm assuming Dracula.

Could have been fun popcorn bullshit, but everybody trying to cash in on that MC universe shit.

I forgot about the D2 pygmies. We saw it in the theater as well I guess back in college cuz it came out maybe 2 years later, and it was okay I just don't remember much of it. I guess the kid was pretty young and annoying, and if I recall he was a young adult or something in the third one maybe. I perhaps watched part of that one, or maybe I'm just remembering the trailer sort of.

Was originally going to start the cinematic universe then later they retconned it to just a cameo and have the mummy official kick things off, like how hulk was before iron man but iron is the official start to the mcu. Then both films were flops anyway so they just killed the dark universe

I didn't realize that, actually rewatched it sometime earlier this year because I think the first time I kind of half-ass watched it was via a pretty bad torrent rip. It's not a great movie but it wasn't a bad time waster.
