How did you transition to building? Are you the project manager?
I took a few years off to go try to be a biologist, realized it paid for shit and had too much politics so returned to Texas and made some calls to people I knew in the business. Got hired to manage all the weekly service routes for a large builder in DFW. Did that for a few years and had a personality conflict with the service manager so I put in my two weeks notice. Owner of the company called me the next day and asked me to come talk to him. He asked me if there was anything else I might be interested doing with the company and I told him I would like to take a shot at construction. Five years later I build more pools than anyone else in the company, probably one of the most prolific builders in DFW as well. Pretty tough for an individual guy to build 50-55 pools per year, every year. Hardest part of the job isn't building them or working with the guys that do the work, its dealing with the damn homeowners. 90% of them are easy peasy but that other 10% will ruin your whole fucking day with their bullshit.

Yes, project manager.

Second guessing everything that happens before its even a finished product. Its a process, wait until that part is completely finished and the guys are out of the yard before sending 8 pics asking why are they doing this? You hired them to do a job, let them do that job. Mistakes happen and if you see something you don't like you absolutely should talk talk about it and get it the way you want but at least let em get it finished first.

Also, don't be a cunty menopausal bitch that hasnt been laid in 4 years.

Funny, this is the case in many professions I assume. When I did body work as a teen I remember a couple times where customers would come “check up” on progress. I remember one flipped out seeing the state their car was in. Of course it looked brand new at the end. I remember one dude showing up with a big ass flashlight and inspecting all kinds of shit, being annoying as hell.

It's even worse when you are building something for that type of person in their backyard. Also everyone now has security cams straight to their phones so they can eye fuck everything all day long even if they aren't home.

Everyone is an expert on everything they know nothing about. I remember when they were building a new intersection with roundabouts in town there was a dude who was a diesel mechanic who "knew" that the roundabout was going to cause tons of accidents and he was super butt hurt because he went to the city council meeting and told them that and they didn't listen to him. I told him that would be like me coming to his diesel shop and telling him that I'm not a mechanic but I have driven a diesel truck and I think the way he is working on that engine is all wrong and he should do it differently. Why would a professional take advice from someone who obviously doesn't know anything about the subject? That doesn't stop people from telling you what you should do though.

Well he may have been right. Roundabouts can increase the amount of accidents but it reduces fatalities because the accidents are different in nature. You should call him up and apologize.

But his feelings! He feels that there will be more accidents. Therefore he is correct! If he feels it, we have no right to tell him he's wrong. He FEELS it.

I can relate to the service management part, these guys drive me mad but I’m getting paid too much right now to quit. My employer in Beaumount has over 200 pools. They’re now experimenting with chemical delivery. I have 20 pools here in Louisiana and am starting to learn about the building process and may take the license exam. I’m not sure if I’ll ever use it but it wouldn’t hurt to know. Who knows maybe these Beaumont guys will want to build one day.

That sounds similar to the service side. 10% of these people are nuts.

That's all well and good when the expert is actually an expert. The rest of the forum is filled with complaints about practically everyone on earth being retarded though. Nothing better than paying someone to do what they're good at and leaving them to it, but that doesn't always work out like I would hope.
