I get and don't get the premise of the female getting body swapped... it was like, done after she was rejected...as a punishment? to be then thrown out? not really a - oh change her for me and give her back.

Watched this back when it was on sci-fi, it was kinda like Farscape to me... I never caught on to it, but I never did see the first episode until it was put on a streaming platform a few years ago, only made it a few episodes in.

So this was on when i was a teen growing up in Toronto (its a Canadian production so it makes sense). The first season was actually a few made for TV movies, IDK how it appears now but if the season is confusing they may have chopped it up for streaming. Season 2 on was a normal TV show. All I remember is that it was rated R or whatever the equivalent was at the time and was shown at night, and was a really horney Sci-Fi show, that was super weird.

Let me know how far you get into it, it may be something I pick up if its held up at all.

Im unsure if my fond memories of the show are based purely on the fact that, like Juvarisx Juvarisx said, its rated R and the content was sexually mature... or if it was actually an intriguing show. I rarely watched the show because I think it came on at 11 and I was a 6am kind of kid up until 2001'ish when I went overboard with EverQuest. It has 61 episodes, so I cant imagine its that deeply rooted in nostalgia, but it sure as fuck aged poorly.

I used to really like "Sliders" too and couldnt make it past a few episodes of that 4-5 years ago. Sea Quest was another one that I loved the shit out of.

First season of Lexx in the US was called “Tales from a parallel universe” and was on Cinemax or The Movie Channel, I forget which. It was R rated, so bare tits. I made a geocities fan page for it before show wikis were a thing lol

Then Syfy picked it up years later and it went by Lexx. They showed the first season (censored) and all the seasons after that. Zev got recast after the first season

Ha that's funny it was on Cinemax, it was on an antenna station called CityTV in Toronto that played softcore porn on weekends overnight (Canadian broadcast rules were fucking strange, don't get me started on the French channels out of Quebec you could pick up lol).

Was it any good or was it just fun watching for tits?

The tits were a bonus, but I mostly liked the whole premise of the show. If there is one thing you can say about Lexx, it certainly is unique in terms of Sci-fi shows lol

I mean, the main cast is a janitor who controls the most powerful weapon in the universe, a woman who is destined to be transformed into a sex slave that escapes the mental conditioning part and also gets genetically combined with an alien carnivorous worm, a psychopathic robot head who is also a giga-simp (because the robot head got the sex slave conditioning instead), and an undead super assassin who needs special bug goo in order to function.

It's like if you took the game Space Quest and turned it into a show lol

It was originally on Showtime, and they weren't opposed to showing boobs.

I still think the funniest episode was when 790 got a body, but it was from a prison rapist or something, and he was chasing Stanley Tweedle around trying to have sex with him. I think a little disco ball would come out of his head or chest and gay German techno music would start to play.

Edit: I went and looked it up, and it's still pretty God damn hilarious, even more so since 790 is playing a jogger. If I remember correctly I think they landed on some prison planet or maybe they had doctor some sort of prison ship or something along those lines. Even in space most of the prisoners are black.

The show isn't gonna win any Emmy's but yes it was a fun watch and gets downright wild. It really is a cross between Red Dwarf and Raised by Wolves.

So this show is actually worth watching? I only remember it for the ship that looked like a dick and balls and assumed it was trying a little too hard to be edgy - sort of like that cgi show they had around the same time, Tripping the Rift.

I would say give it a shot. rewatching that Pilot episode above, it REALLY has a different tone than the rest of the show. It settles into more of a lighthearted adventure. As I said, it perfectly blends the comedy and wackiness of Red Dwarf with the WTF and "shit just got real" of Raised by Wolves.

Edit - it also has kind of a soap opera feel to it as well, which may be a turn off.

This was long before the time of edginess. It's totally worth watching because it's fun sci-fi schlock, but it also used to have boobs in it. It's its own weird thing, but it's a hell of a lot more creative and steps out of bounds a lot more than the vast majority of shows nowadays. They actually had some pretty interesting ideas for a universe or whatever. Everything about the His Eternal Shadow and Kai being an undead assassin, and the Lexx being the most powerful weapon in the two universes if I'm remembering. First season is not that great other than just stand alone funny episodes, but it actually becomes pretty decent, or somewhat serious, but it's still always science fiction satire.

If you can put up with the low level production values, you'll probably enjoy it.

Also what was tripping the rift? That sounds so familiar and I want to say maybe it was a short deal on sci-fi Maybe? I know I can go look it up but I figured I would just ask

Edit: ttt

Tripping the Rift was some 3d animated show on Syfy. I never watched it really, though

I vaguely remember it I want to say it was very late 90s or early 2000s or something. It was back maybe around the same time they were doing the Sci-Fi short film series? Used to be hosted by Tim Burton's big tittied wife? Is that what I'm thinking of?

Maybe I'm thinking of a different show that they had. I did like the short film showcase they used to run because there was always some pretty interesting stuff on there.

Yeah, was a mid 2000s sci fi comedy. I thought it was a bit too schlocky. One of Stephen Root's rare misses.

Okay that's not the short film deal I was thinking of but I do remember that, and I'm kind of glad it didn't last long.

It was pretty bad if I remember the one or two episodes I watched.

Had to go look it up because it was bugging me, Exposure was the show. I was actually a really neat concept because it was trying to showcase people breaking into the science fiction world and lots of short films by up and coming filmmakers and what have you.

There's some pretty good stuff on there. Plus Tim Burton's wife I want to say her name is Lisa Marie had some gorgeous knockers.
