So they finally 'finished' this project and have fully fixed/updated/expanded LISA: The Painful and LISA: The Joyful. It all fully works with no weird shitty bugs, supports full resolutions etc.
If you're even slightly in to RPGs you really should give it a try. It's better than anything made in the modern AAA space by a pretty wide margin, and has done some truly unrivaled things in terms of blending overworld storytelling with RPG gameplay/combat, has an actual very good main narrative (although a pretty fucking bleak one), and some of the funniest shit you'll encounter in gaming anywhere.
It's also brutally difficult on some of the higher difficulty settings so if you do try it keep that in mind and maybe opt for the easier modes if you don't care to spend the time to really figure out the battle systems.
Dunkeys video on it from years ago is a pretty good representation for the feel of the game, but it's a fair bit more dramatic and depressing outside the hilarious bits:
