I found it entertaining. I never got bored, so its got that going for it. Is it an award winner? No, but I don't think it's dog shit, either.

I would have preferred that the movie actually stick with its portrayal in the trailers and have gone action version of Limitless route. That said, it could have just as easily gone full scifi, tapped into the Morgan Freeman power and done something magical. Unfortunately, it did a mix of both in some crazy alcoholic concoction and when you got to the end you were left wondering what the fuck happened.

yeah. that its worse then the trailers suggest apparently, is just hilarious.
I at least expected some visual fun/porn ala Chronicle, 5th element, Akira...

Well friday presented everyone with two choices, The Rock who just prints money or Scarjo who creates boners from thin air and well everyone went with the boner. Fortunately i caught Herc also and it was pretty entertaining, more so than Lucy was.

What a complete let down. Becomes a god person only to reduce yourself to a goddamn flash drive and a general impression that she's now "one with the universe" powder style. Reminds me of Contact.....3 hours and the alien was her goddamn father. This movie could have done so much better. No extra points for multiple scenes of animal sex either.

Overall i did enjoy this, i tend to completely suspend all forms or reality when i go see any sci-fi/fantasy type movie. I can't go into every movie trying to compare it to the real world... if i wanted to do that i would not be watching sci fi/fantasy movies.... wait, what?! AI can jack into Neo's brain and suck human heat in human corn baby farms to continue living while at the same time making humanity be in a dream forever... no thanks, that can't happen.
I always admire this forums opinions, you all do tend to rip apart movies that are fantasy based to see the reality of them, until you find a movie you enjoy, then the ripping stops (Avengers for example, hell that crap can't happen, but we won't rip that apart since it was awesome)

Either way, i enjoyed this movie for what it was, i'm not going to compare it any real life fact or science because there is none for it (hence it was a fantasy movie)
It was a little cliche' at the very end, but it was entertaining, it was only 1.5 hours so it did not try too hard. I'd give it a 7/10.
It was 100% better than Hercules though.... seeing a movie about a demi-god with nothing fantasy in the entire move was a huge let down.

Please tell me that there is a computer screen with the percentage of her brain being used counting up throughout the movie and right before the third act it starts counting super fast.

No they simply used a black splash screen with giant white "60%" or "99%" periodically

Gotta say, the movie was definitely better if you read those reviews before watching it.

I was expecting a battlefield-earth-scale fiasco instead I got an overfunded syfy tv movie. Was actually kinda disappointed it wasn't worse than it was.

Went to Lucy. Amusing movie. Seemed like a string of "cool scenes" that they begrudgingly put a plot between. While sometimes cool, none of these scenes actually felt "earned," due to the time/effect-scale they chose to execute it over.

Additional problem with making a movie (or book, or any storytelling method) about hyper-intelligent people is that someone non-hyper-intelligent is making it. Which is why I didn't feel particularly let down by the movie, since I expected it to be a bunch of dumb shit paired with decent special effects and Morgan Freeman saying sciency-sounding things that don't actually check out.

I was particularly amused at the pre-European Contact Native Americans riding horses.

Well they kinda added a part where they said she can control her metabolism now. So as to not have her constantly eating.
Conservation of energy man. Control her metabolism or not just think of how much power she had to use to project herself into Morgan's apartment!? She said she was doing it with microwaves and hacking a radio from a world away doesn't make sense on the fly. That was pure power projection. I suppose she could have been drawing it from everything around her but then she would be walking around leaving dead patches of everything around her as she drew the energy from it.

That's almost always the first flaw super powers run into. Law of conservation.

They wouldn't be super powers if they had to follow the law of conservation. Talking about physics in regard to this movie is obviously a silly thing to do.

Friend wanted to see this instead of Guardians of the Galaxy. I didnt need that kind of negativity in my life and he has been black listed.

Movie looks ok. Will probably sneak into it after watching GoTG.

Well the universe is often weirder the we can imagine.Just looking at things at the atomic level shows that electrons don't orbit as much as they teleport around a nucleus. Or how two particles can be entangled to act exactly the same yet seemingly be unconnected. Of course these are at scales so small as to have no bearing on us (well other then electronics!) but the current existence of the impossible suggests some super powers would not be impossible. Rather they would just be massive advancements in technology.
