Destiny 3 wouldn’t have stood a chance anyway. 2 was on life support as it was and the people responsible for the good design left that shithole years ago. Now it’s all DEI horse biters. Anyone that is still working at bungie today is a waste of oxygen in the industry.

Youre prob right. Only one thats left from the old crew is Jason Jones. All the others either got fired or left. Lets not forget that they exist in the commie commune of WA. Which does not help any.

I wish the same for Arc Raiders at this point too, but this game is just plain bad.

I think the world and aesthetics are really cool, but the extraction part isn't great. The UI which is the 2nd or 3rd most important part of an extractor is terrible.

I'd say in terms of importance for an extraction shooters it goes:

1. Loot - I think the loot is dragged down by the UI in this game.
2. Gun Play - They have this down.
3. UI - Very terrible

#4 is more than likey proximity chat since this is what made Arc Raiders the #1 in the genre.

The downfall of Destiny does suck, They just needed to repeat the final years of D1 before D2 came out and improve upon that. So easy, so simple. Instead they just kept doubling down on PVP which was the worst aspect of that game.

PvP is the easiest way to make a game seem “fresh” without actually doing anything. It’s lazy, and most of the time, terrible.

Which is fine if it was good, but the combat and hitboxes were just not good for PVP with the crazy speed and movement.

I’m starting to wonder if the DEI UX designer over at bungie used claude sonnet 4.5 to create the UI. I’m guessing so because they have Jack shit for talent.

And Marathon would be fine if D2 was in a god place, good content stream keeps happening, but this just leaves a bad taste in everyone's mouths that play D2 when your core game is in dire condition, people leaving in droves, and has been that way for a year or more...Next content set back to whenever the fuck, just so they can concentrate on this shit. This just goes to show how little they care for the fans of Destiny that spent THOUSANDS of dollars over they years. I mean, Bungie was bad enough on content delivery for one game, and now they have 2 to deal with? Without Activision getting 2 more studios to churn out content? LOL this will work out fine for both games. :D

Destiny 2 had ups and downs but it was in an amazing place before the Creation of Lightfall.

Base game was rough because they made too many changes to the winning formula. The first two expansions were mostly shit.

But Forsaken was probably the peak of Looter shooters - Story, loot, modes, everythign perfect. Shadowkeep wasnt at its level of Forsaken but added the champions which I thought was good at the time. Beyond Light was semi filler in the greater story but was great content. The Witch Queen was the 2nd best year of Destiny 1 or 2. Amazing shit. Story, locale, raid, Crafting, PVP - I was literally playing 3-4 hours a day for so long. The sunsetting of weapons and content was always bullshit but until now the game was good enough on releases that it made up for it, and the quarterly seasons were still good shit. Dungeons surpassed raids in quality and fun. Trials was fun. the game was a juggernaught - You could tell some stuff was missing and that was why it wasnt at Forsaken level.

But then we learned why. the Jews wanted MORE TOKENS FOR ISRAEL and demanded they create an expansion out of nowhere. they pulled strand out of Witch Queen along with some other content, and literally just took what should have been the Opening cutscene of The Final Shape, and jammed a made up planet with a shit story and a stupid tranny character down our throats. Literally the worst expansion ever and it killed the game. Anyone I knew who played stopped. The Seasonal content this cycle was pure shit. You can literally cut that whole expansion out and it doesnt effect the story at all.

Final Shape was great, it ended the story, wrapped everything up so well but it was too late. They killed the game and the numbers were so bad they basically had to rework any future plans and focus on Marathon. What little talent they had left was spread thin, and here we are. The post Final Shape 3 mini seasons were actually decent but it was too late. Game is on life support at this point.

Then Edge of Fate killed the game. Their new "Mini Expanion" model was DOA, shit new systems, shit new planet, gear sucks, the hubs and weekly content and shit ruined. You could play at this point and not know its destiny. the Core playlists - Nightfall, Strikes, PVP and Gambit all ruined or ended. Pure slop. Renegades was fun mostly because of the star wars tie in and visuals. They should have just ended destiny at the FInal shape and went all in Marathon. They didnt. They wanted to try to still make money off Destiny to fuel Marathons half ass team.

they got greedy, ruined one game, panicked, and then ruined 2 games.

I tried the into mission on this last night and hate the controls, visuals, gunplay. All shit. Granted I was fucking wasted after a happy hour that turned into a 4 hours hard drinking at the bar with the boys.

But even wasted me couldnt find anything enjoyable about the experience and that says alot. My old fun was drinking 20 beers and playing the EQ Live TLPs. Even that slop was pure joy with enough booze.

Even Yelinak and Oakwynd were fun with booze. This game is worse than them.

Not sure if it's been posted here, but you can help with the terrible sluggish controls a bit by tweaking the settings. FoV 105, look sensitivity 5, radial and axial dead zones 0.2. Not perfect, but it feels a lot better to me and was pretty comfortable to settle into after Destiny controls.

This all just makes me sad. If Bungie would have spent their efforts on a new pve shooter instead of Marathon, I think it would have done really well even if they chose not to pigeonhole themselves into Destiny 3 specifically. So much lost money for them and fun for us. I’m going to play this server slam and just think about the what ifs during the infrequent pve encounters and then move on to something else. A shame really
