Bungie is now deleting negative reviews via Xbox and more.

I think my single biggest issue with Marathon is that I cannot stand the aesthetic. I am huge fan of cyberpunk as a genre and loved everything about the Destiny art style and Marathon just feels wrong. It's just too much discordant bright colors for no goddamn reason

Oh there's a reason. The result of many, many studies about conditioning human beings by exposure to stimuli.

Observe if you will the BLASTING of pinks, light purples and teals.

It reeks of individuals frustrated by the lack of immediate results and going overkill with it.

Even the fuckin super Mario Galaxy movie has this light purple glow over everything. It's not a coincidence when it's this prevalent, not a seller as people are becoming more and more disgusted by the products doing it for other "attached conditioning" elements let's call it.

Go look around for a bit then come back and call me nuts. I'm fine with that. But if you're being honest, you'll see it and it will click for you.

Nah, I just can't get behind calling this concord 3. Obviously this didn't do well, but it isn't doing nearly bad enough to deserve the title of concord 3.

Objective statements of fact won't get you very far in this thread. Three weeks on the top selling chart but Ut is convinced this is gonna to be comparable to Concord's 25k total copies sold. These things are impossible to reconcile.

Has only gone up since the test.

This still doesn't bode well. What this means are there are low steam purchases happening across the board. Considering it hasn't topped RE9, a $70 single player game that takes 8 hours to complete that has been out a week already, is pretty shit.

The one issue with steam Best Sellers is they should metric the amount of actual steam purchases in that same time period it's gauging against and show that. This literally could mean 30 people bought RE9 in the last 3 hours and 29 people bought Marathon, and everything else below is sub 29 purchases in a 3 hour period.

Also, you will want to track global:

Thing about these types of games, is not the initial box numbers anyway. I mean sure, they matter, but the RETENTION is really what matters in these seasonal type GAS games. They make most of their moneys in the shops, "premium" season battle passes, etc... So yeah you can have a shit ton of initial sales, but the real test will be who is playing this shit 6 months down the line. And from their server slam numbers, it does not bode well. Shit went from like 150K down to 60K in a day or two and ended up with just a fraction of that initial 150K. I mean you can see the trend and its not looking good.

Yeah this is a test, so maybe people are not as invested? IDK, but if the game was actually fun and engaging, more people would stick around and play the server slam, right?

If this was free to play I think that’s more true. I think at this point they are just trying to sucker as many people into a box sale to recoup as much of that $250 million as possible. Of which they would have to sell 6.25 million units. But yeah even then they just get development budget back and like you said, they aren’t paying a live team (unless it’s the three people left standing at Bungie after the smoke clears here) running shit through AI.

And those concurrent numbers for server slam suck. That’s a huge drop off. If it was a fun game people are playing it all weekend.

I’m not buying it but I enjoyed the server slam. I got 23 hours into it. If I had paid $40 for that experience I wouldn’t be all that upset. I’d honestly rather do that than spend $70 on a 10 hour RE9 play through.

will the game end up being an AR or HD2 type success story? No, but I think it will sell well enough to do fine initially. The Bungie Destiny-like gunplay is enough to draw people in for at least a few months I’d think. We shall see starting tomorrow.

I am convinced Sony's live service games are money laundering fronts for the Yakuza.

Concord - Disaster - $400 Million
Bungie Acquisition - Disaster - $3.6 Billion Dollars
Destiny 2 after acquisition - Disaster
Marathon - disaster - $250 Million

Prove me wrong

aside from that I have not turn on my ps5 for ages, there is really no need to anymore
