Marathon - Bungie Extraction Shooter

I'm actually more interested in what happened to David Caruso then what's going on with this game. Has he actually started anything in the past decade?

Scrap it and just start on Destiny 3 (or whatever the next fps is with that sweet smooth gunplay). Make it all solo or co-op with a great story, no pvp garbage, no live service, just a FPS RPG please and print money for yourselves.

They can't.. I believe they are literally corned-hole into figuring out how to save the business, it sounds like Sony gave them a year(which is very odd coming out of them).
But at the end of the day, they chased that Fortnite money and failed, not only Sony but Bungie/Bluepoint(RIP)/and that one studio that did that one game.

I think what really killed this game is Arc Raiders which just plays better, normal art style, way more and timely support and it got insane popularity from way back in beta. And it released just ahead of Marathon. This game had no chance. Not to mention the controversy overt the stealing of art assets, shit beta experiences which made them delay and redesign shit to make it more fun. And really in a tiny niche market anyway. These games are not really that popular when it comes to the general gaming audience.
They should have stuck to what made them what they are. PVE shit, raids, dungeons, and those smooth ass shooter mechanics they perfected. Like, IDK, doble down on D2 (too late) or just make D3 with a fresh start and a better on boarding experience for players which D2 is severely lacking. They had the means to print money but they chose some stupid game in a tiny slice of pie genre and spent a quarter of a billion dollars making it and in the interim, stalling any D2 content which also killed that game too. Shit, go back and make Marathon a PvE shooter game like Destiny.

I started halfway through the games life cycle, about a year before Lightfall, wasn't around for the earlier dramas and shit. Guess I don't have much to compare with other than LF being dog shit and everything that happened after TFS.

The game released in shit form. PvP was 4v4 primary only, even PVE was shit because everything had static rolls and slowed down 50%. Another dumb decision by leaders, I think it was Luke Smith, director at the time. Game was shit compared to Destiny 1. But they fixed it over the next year, reverting all the tragic decisions. But Its best times were during the Activision years. They had 2 other studios working on their shit, making content. Then Bungie told us they wanted to go all solo, because they would make even better content when they were fully in control. Everyone celebrated Bungies escape from evil Activision. Then it all turned to shit, because of course it did. Content went stagnant, seasonal shit became boring as fuck. So then they sold out to Sony in the end to save their dying asses. Total and utter mismanagement of one of the greatest gaming franchises ever.
Meanwhile in the background they bought themselves new quarter billion dollar lavish office off that Destiny fuck you moneys pouring in, and decided to concentrate on side projects, like this Marathon loser, and others that never saw the light of day, instead of making Destiny great again. Or just making Destiny 3, Or something new and good. Marathon aint it, lol. They should have scrapped the whole thing when it went into private testing and it got shit on by literally everyone that played it. Maybe made it into a pve shooter, like you know, they are known for making?

Whenever they did the first closed beta, they should have listenend ..
Stop re-do the game before it even hits Open Beta turn it into a single player campaign, then push the Extraction Shooter shit later.(It might have taken longer, but it would have been worth it)
The Compiler fight is great.. but waiting so long for a few logs from Tycho and Durandel..
