I felt like maybe movies aren't for me after detesting Avatar 3 so saw this today when a buddy asked if I wanted to go.
Really enjoyed it, based on the description / cast its the movie I normally would have HATED but i dunno, i think i finally hit that age where spectacle in movies does nothing for me now and I need something that says more about life, the universe, or anything.
Set in the 1950s, story is kind wild and chaotic and reminded me of Scorsese. Nothing amazing and ending feels a bit rushed but movie is 2h30m. Not been a big fan of Timmy but he does a great job here, kinda reminds me of young Pacino maybe. Some cool cameos, I didn't realize it at the time but Penn Gillette plays the tall farmer guy.
Movie is VERY new york (and so pretty jew-y too). No real reason to rush out to theaters to see it, will be fine at home in 2 months but if you are thinking of seeing Avatar 3, don't waste your time/money go see something else, like this, instead.
