Sorry I just haven't kept up with my comic books and not remember all of the grades from the 90s. I did just recognize it as somebody who was probably pretty prolific.

At least it's not the guy who draws the weird people with the feet and the odd body shapes. Maybe it is I remember who the hell that guy's name is but you know who I'm talking about.

FWIW, Grok’s explanation of the gaycusations:

No. There is no messaging in Marvel’s Wolverine (the Insomniac Games PS5 title releasing around September 15, 2026) that Wolverine and Sabretooth are gay or in a romantic/sexual relationship.

What happened is this: A Washington Post review by Gene Park quoted narrative director Walt Williams describing their intense, long-standing rivalry (they’re forced into an uneasy Team X alliance in the game). Williams said the rivalry “has room for love,” referred to a combat scene where Sabretooth grabs Logan’s head as involving a “brief moment of yearning,” and explained that “Hate and love are so hand in hand… you hurt me so I’m going to hurt you, and we’re still going to be linked because now the pain is shared.” Logan feels the pull and pulls away; Sabretooth lashes out. bleedingfool.com

Some online commentary (especially critical YouTube videos and posts) treated the word “yearning” and the “room for love” phrasing as confirmation of a homosexual romance or subtext. Insomniac quickly clarified that this is not the case. Community director James Stevenson stated it is “a brother / best friend thing,” more like “brothers on Team X,” and explicitly confirmed they do not have a romantic relationship. Multiple outlets reported the studio’s position that the comments were misinterpreted and that the dynamic is platonic/volatile brothers-in-arms style, consistent with their competitive combat banter and shared history rather than romance. mp1st.com

In short, the game emphasizes a complicated, pain-linked rivalry with emotional intensity (as many classic comic rivalries have), not a gay romance or “messaging” that the characters are gay. The controversy stems from interpretive spin on the director’s wording, which the developers themselves rejected. The game also features other relationships (including with Jean Grey) in more conventional romantic/tragic territory.
Who the fuck phrases it like 'brief moment of yearning' if you aren't trying to describe romance?

Devil’s advocate since I’m never touching this shit, but it could be a gay trying to relate to male friendship that doesn’t involve swapping stds each weekend. It’s a foreign concept.

Kids use the term yearn a lot now (by kids I mean the gen z people I work with)

Doesn't make his statement any less deranged

I am unsure how they made a Wolverine game which I don't want to play.

Lets hope AI takes over the entire creative industry. Fuck them.

Wolverine’s power-set is tough to work in a game. He’s basically immortal. So you have to have enemies that somehow negate that. After that is simply copy the most engaging and brutal hack and slash gameplay. I don’t mind linear. Maybe a few multi-routes and make it so he’s got to be nearly overwhelmed. The real thing is don’t make it a story that completely dumpsters any semblance of comic homage and goes for sensitive Wolverine. His hair is even bad.

A better game would be an X-Men game with some mix up in gameplay etc.

Or give me an open world Punisher developed by someone that read early punisher and punisher war zone and is ready to say fuck it and let us shoot jaywalkers, pimps, dealers, and murderers alike. Insomniac with a good set of balls would have done that. It’s an obvious next step.
