It's weird how Draygon and Phantoon are part of the statue over Tourian. The statue should have just been Kraid and Ridley, like the original game. In theory you need to defeat Phantoon and Draygon to get to Ridley during any sort of normal playthrough, anyway.

Also, the boss music should be switched around. The regular boss music (Kraid, Crocomire, Phantoon) should be taken off Kraid and put on Draygon, while the big boss music (Draygon, Ridley) should be taken off Draygon and put on Kraid. That way the two pirate leaders have the big boss music. I'd also double Kraid's HP. He's way too easy.

...not sure why I'm making patch suggestions for a game from 1994. Well, people make hacks of the game all the time.

The Draygon clones in Dread were intriguing. IIRC the water zone in that game didn't have a boss. Maybe Draygon was supposed to be the boss there and got cut due to time or something.

Hopefully with the X Parasites obliterated in Dread, the coast is clear now for more actual Metroids in the next main series game.

Yeah, I agree on the statue, as the other "bosses" were really... just natural and "stranded" inhabitants of the planet... but after going through the metroid "history" and plot...it is more of a mess than Zelda, and that is an acomplishment.

Like the chozo places are always "presented" as ancient, yet they were just wondering around needing gas then told no, then came back and found samus...like no problem...but..then...are like...all gone and it was a super WTF rare thing when the dude from dread showed up..

I may slog through dread... I am really bad at the "horror" spots with the bad robot guys... I hate running in circles to avoid it while trying to figure out where to go...

just need lore scanners in super metroid to explain it. lol.

Space pirates enslaving, experimenting on, and incorporating native species into their armies, it makes enough sense to think they incorporated Draygon and Phantoon into their systems.

The other factor option is thats not really whats happening. Like, how prime explains Samus shooting doors is "hacking" them basically. so maybe the statues are a biolock. and the space pirates, attuned the areas to those creatures. Samus defeating them, lets her collect their dna/ biosignature and unlock the gates.

Samus is literally the last "Metroid"

They are all dead, although there might be some forgotten planets that Metroids have been moved from SR388(There has been absolutely 0 information on Metroids sense Fusion).

As far as X-parasite ehh .. who knows?

Remember that Zebes was a Chozo research planet at first, the Draygon species could possibly be a species that they created.

But the only person who would know seems like a real ass, or he has 0 clue wtf is even happening anymore.

Doesn't help that you can get Super Missiles really early in Super Metroid, which do 4x damage lol, and it's not like Quick kill Kraid is really hard to do.

Eh she is the last Metroid and last X then also right? And the last Chozo….

My thing about not killing things is… the “big bad” never seem to die… Metroid prime, blow the crap out of it like 8 times…still alive enough to somehow pull off your phazon suit and become that…. Sylux or whatever you blow up through what 3? Phases and he still is just dandy and has to be held back by your bros. Etc.

There is no more X, no more Metroids..

SR388 was completely wiped clean at the end of Fusion. ZDR was designed to completely destroy its self either from Raven Beak being killed, or the planet had some kind of self-destruct sequence that would trip if the planet systems noticed a sudden massive spike.

There is a "chance" that Ridley may still be alive, but he might also be the Ridley we run into in Fusion, at the end of Samus Returns 3DS, Ridley does show up to try and steal the baby metroid, but is easily beaten too a pulp, and we see a X heading towards him(This is the 100% clear "bonus" scene).

I honestly think eventually they will return, I think the chozo did find another planet that the species could naturally reproduce on, and that planet would be locked down like how SR388 was.

Eh she is the last Metroid and last X then also right? And the last Chozo….

Metroids are designed to destroy the X and absorb its energy(its energy properties have always been known, but the metroids being the apex predator of the X wasn't introduced till Fusion), its why the metroids are such a big deal, they could possibly be used for anything in this version of the "Universe".

And she is not Chozo, she has Chozo DNA as this was the only way she could survive on the home planet, she has been raised/trained by the Chozo.

But it's like anytime a new Metroid game is getting released, every interview asks the same question... "What is the Story?" and we have never gotten a straight answer from him, it seems that he doesn't really care about the story but likes making games.. *shrug*

They need to forget about the story and just make stand alone games or trilogies. Use metroids in new or unique ways each game but have them still same enough, or take advantage of the evolution of them via metroid 2.

Kinda like zelda where they make a game then paste it poorly into a timeliness.

I think when he retires the series will be gone.. he is 66 now.

But I think when a lot of the OG designers behind the games are gone, the company is gonna fall on it's face harder then Enron..

Wonder if Metroid 6 is going to give us more of Metroid Suit Samus. It's fugly, but it sure is powerful. Actually, the power level is so busted that they'll have to find a way to nerf it quick.

I think the X Parasite is done. They never did that much for me. Sure they're creepy, and both Fusion and Dread had some really chilling moments due to them. I appreciate them more now that I've realized they're supposed to be John Carpenter's The Thing. But yeah, I'd rather be getting more Metroids.

So basically this series is about the Xenomorph, and later introduces The Thing, with the Xenomorph as the natural predator of The Thing and thus a proliferation of Things once the Xenomorphs are out of the way.

Hopefully Metroid 6 gets back to, you know, actually fighting Metroids, and gives us more Kamehameha blasts with the Metroid Suit. Should be easy to give us a multitude of Metroids; just have someone scrape DNA off of Samus' Metroid Suit (or Samus herself, since both now have Metroid DNA) and use it to clone more of them. Having Samus herself be the source of a reconstituted surge of Metroids would be an interesting plot.

I hope Metroid Prime 5 closes that series out. We've had enough Primes at this point. I'd like to see them do one more that corrects the mistakes of Prime 4 and uses the Switch 2 to full potential (i.e. isn't a cross-gen game). Close out any loose ends the Prime series might have. Then after that just focus on Metroid 6, Metroid 7, etc.

Nintendo doesn't understand Metroid. It might be most of Japan really if you think about it.

nintendo keeps failing at Metroid. Rare's Metroid prime was a fluke in the first place. Nintendo not really paying attention and letting Rare do its thing.

Capcom abandoned Castlevania.
Iga made Bloodstained but then just stopped?

From software seems to be the only ones that get it. darksouls are metroidvanias. But.. Elden ring is open world..

the vast majority of Metroidvanias are not from Japan.

It would be interesting to make a "metroidbrainia" with Metroid proper. have her start the game with her full suit and powerups, and make all the progress knowledge gated. passwords, the world operating in ways you might not immediately guess. like say, luring flys over to some plant, to make the plant grow. you could have done it the entire time, but don't know till later when a scanner entry tells you. gates that open at certain times, etc.
some powerups. but have them all be power/combat based, not progression based.

The outer worlds/tunic.
