We don't have a generalized Metroid series thread, and it's necessary at this point with all of the likely upcoming games the series will get. Things that are all but confirmed:

2D
-Super Metroid Remake
-Metroid Fusion Remake
-Metroid Dread 2

3D
-Metroid Prime 5

Also extremely likely is Metroid Prime 2 Remastered, with the third one also being likely (only less so due to the motion control components potentially being an issue).

So that's a likely six more Metroid games on the horizon. The next one in line will more likely than not be the Super Metroid Remake. Mercury Steam is doing it. I wasn't really a fan of Samus Returns (Metroid 2 Remake) so I'd much rather see a basic HD-2D Super Metroid remake than a Mercury Steam one.

Other than that, I'd rather get more Metroid than another 8-year series drought like the ones we got in the 90's and 2010's. So I'll take whatever we can get on this front. They really need to deliver a hit after what a letdown Prime 4 was.

Things I'd like to see in upcoming Metroid games:

-Almost no dialogue. Dialogue with a navigation computer in hub rooms (ala Fusion or Dread) is fine, but there should be absolutely no fucking pop-up dialogue while you're out exploring like what Prime 4 did.

-Crocomire's Skeleton should be a surprise second boss fight in Super Metroid Remake. It looks like a boss, and then it just falls apart.

-We need more Metroid variants. Hell, more Metroids in general. We've never seen Beta Metroids, Delta Metroids, or Omicron Metroids. The Prime series has absolutely no excuse for not having Metroids in it, since it takes place before they "went extinct". And the main series can bring them back too, given that Metroid Fusion had several reconstituted Metroids near the end and then they got blown up with the ship / just went nowhere after that.
