I think every white person in America goes through some level of white guilt. It is certainly cultural mindset, such thing doesn't exist in Russia for example.

The important thing to realize is that unless you personally enslaved a white person, beat up a gay guy, passed a segregation law, or bought a Redskins jersey that you dont owe a fucking thing to anyone.

I don't want to burn anything down. My views are entirely predicated on my beliefs about freedom. I don't see any reason that they'll cause any (real) harm and nothing you've said indicates otherwise.

So basically as long as the gay person doesn't leave his house or never shows any sort of affection to his lover, you are fine with it? As long as no gay relationship is shown in a movie, you are fine with it? As long as they stay in the closet and don't "offend" you by living their life, you are fine with it?

Fuck what you are "fine" with, get over yourself. Just because something offends you doesn't mean that should be outlawed. Laws shouldn't exist to keep bigots from being offended.

Why are you acting like this is some sort of shocking revelation? This is what the norm was in US until very recently. It is still the norm in Russia.

I can accept the homosexual kiss in public here, these are standards that the American community in major urban areas has decided that are acceptable. I dont necessarily agree with it, but I'm not going to fight it.

In Russia, the vast majority of the people are offended by it. Different strokes for different folks.

Well back then, I didnt care. Like I said before, I believed in all that stuff.

Then I grew up and realized that "FREEEDUMB" isn't some carte blanche to do whatever you want. We coexist in a society where people have to make compromises all the time about their needs, wants, tastes, etc. We shares spaces, governance, resources. Everything is essentially a compromise.

With gays we had a long standing social compact. They decided that they didnt like that deal after a while and decided to bite off some more. Well, they bit off more than they could chew, got curbstomped in Russia and had to be reminded of the social compact in place in the society where they live.

If they dont like it, they can move somewhere else. Maybe there is a country exclusively for gays where they can exist in one giant Grindr paradise.

Fine then, just admit you support majority rule and are anti-freedom. Supporting majority rule is NEVER about supporting freedom. The majority rarely has to worry about their rights getting taken away in a democracy.

Yep, they got "uppity" so then laws had to be passed to put them back into hiding. They were allowed to be gay as long as they didn't show any of it outside the house.

I support community decency standards as established by 90% of those living in that community.

In Russia, gays still have the freedom to be gay, have gay sex, go to gay movies, gay clubs, gay bookstores, gay plays and just generally be fags in genera.

That has not changed, so I'm not sure whats all this whining about freedom is all about since no freedoms have been deprived.
