He's not a championship level fighter in the UFC, and look at the names of his current losing streak.

Tony Ferguson - former interim champ who hit him with an illegal strike that led to a doctor stoppage

Justin Gaethje - former interim champ and about to challenge for the belt

Conor McGregor - even past his prime, the name says enough

Anthony Pettis - past his prime but still a former champion

Niko Price - this is the embarrassing one, and it was a draw that became a NC

Alex Morono - hungry up and comer who should probably be ranked higher than he is.



Lauzon is just as old as Cowboy, hasnt fought in 2.5 years, hasn't beaten a recognizable name in 6 years (and that was Diego Sanchez), and never challenged for a belt or even fought a former champion.

That is a big part of what the ref's job is. That being said I originally thought he shouted in pain when he spit his mouthpiece out which would count as a verbal submission, but upon rewatching I was wrong.
