Easy to get complacent with staph after you've had it a gang of times, especially if you've never had it bad. Scary stuff.

Always been a big fan of Ben so dudes got my prayers
Been on the mat for… 12+ years, never caught a case. Use to train 6 days a week, now I teach / train anywhere from 3-6 times a week, I always shower when I get home within the first 20 minutes, almost always, if not in the first 20, at least within the first hour, avoid touching anyone / food prep, until I’m fully clean

Pretty sure when I've gotten cases (very mild) in the past it was usually from competitions and having to drive home, some of those trips were pretty long

3 hour one-way drive to the city, with fucked up brakes, or getting stuck and having to overnight because of a snowstorm , to compete for some cheap zinc metal alloy

Sounds like you too are a Northeast grappler sir. I don't live there anymore, and don't train either, but did all my training up in Central NY and was all over the place competing at the time.

wnba has more fighting than wmma

pulling out a jon jones is hardcore

I actually saw an article about that a little bit ago. The refs stood around in a huddle for at least 5 minutes and then zero ejections.

I couldn't imagine being a WNBA fan even if the officiating was perfect at all times, but shitty players with shitty officiating? Yikes.

I don't train at gyms without on-site showers. I had skin issues for years while I waited until I got home home, even though it was a short drive. They immediately vanished when I started showering right after class.

Combat sports in general are fucking gross. We had to toss a guy out of the gym because he refused to believe it wasn't cool to train in the morning, hang his gi on his car for a couple hours, then wear it again to train in afternoon (while not showering himself). And never mind the standard, "I have ringworm but it's all good because I covered it in tape" dude. Competition is even worse, with 25% of people showing to the tournament sick from over-training, tracking literal shit from the bathrooms to the mats, etc.

For sure, I’ve been teaching at two places recently, one is fully equipped and massive, the other that’s much closer to me, is basically a hole in the wall, but there’s talk of a shower being made. My oldest gym, which I left a little while back, which had a huge membership and is very well established, still didn’t/doesn’t have a shower, and its ridiculous—I can only cop it to that… Brazilian attitude to somethings….
