There is so many factors that come with Jones, legacy, really never lost* (undefeated), Age, money ect.
Whatever his reasons the dude is a beast that took advantage of his born attributes(7'+ wing span). I think he doesn't have the fire in him anymore, he wants to fight for a check and not to see who's better.

Gotta remember Jones did the GSP-Hendricks style "retirement" after a big beating and gifted decision, except he went about it in a weasel way. He used the guise of the "move to HW" which had him sitting out for years. People forget the Ngannou fight was offered to Jones while Ngannou was still under contract-- and he turned it down (5 years later he says he wants it when Ngannou is no longer under contract). But I get why he's not eager to fight a better, bigger, stronger, more dangerous version of Reyes. It does come down to legacy, because he's fine if Ngannou puts a loss on his record. He just doesn't want a loss to Tom Reyes. He knows the possibility of that is very high and money won't make it better.

No word if Conor is in the testing pool, so he's probably just talking. It'd take a lot for a serious drug abuser to enter testing and money doesn't really seem to motivate Conor these days.
In any case, officially re-entering drug testing for competition means you aren't retired any longer. Jones is back.

Jones hinted that he's open to Aspinall and he's relieved to not have the belt anymore. Tom replied saying that he himself is not interested since Jones had his chance. . I think he might be OK taking a loss to Aspinall on the WH lawn-- with the potential to take the title back being the motivator.
Otherwise, rumor right now is Poatan might be out against Ankalaev and in fact the paperwork is not signed for that rematch.
Rumormill is that UFC was thinking of putting Poatan against Aspinall next, and Jones got wind of it and snapped out of retirement because he was previously denied the Poatan fight. A whiff that Tom might get the Poatan fight, combined with the WH card had him leaping back to the sport. Jones also sounded like he's open to fighting HW contenders-- which is a change of tune from "my legacy, I can only fight big names". Things are at least interesting again from a speculation standpoint, outside the Octagon, for the time being.

UFC legend Randy Couture was airlifted to a burn center with serious injuries after crashing during practice runs at a racetrack in Kansas City ... TMZ Sports has learned.
Couture -- who was slated to make his National Hot Rod Association racing debut this year -- was involved in an accident during preparation on Tuesday ... resulting in first- and second-degree burns, trauma injuries and smoke inhalation.
The 62-year-old fighter, actor and Army vet completely wrecked the car he was driving at the time of the incident ... although it's unclear what caused it.
He was rushed to a nearby burn center for treatment ... where he remains at this time.
Luckily, we're told he is expected to recover.
Couture -- a UFC Hall of Famer -- has been practicing in the pro stock division for his upcoming race campaign.
Just months ago, Scag Racing announced a Pro Mod program in the NHRA ... with Couture going through the licensing process in order to compete sometime in 2025.

Using the fence exclusively to stand up, having the fence hold you in place with your back still turned, and only turning around after the stop isn't a defense.
Legit stoppage, but would have liked to see if Lewis had enough cardio to reset and knock him down again. Calling a foul or warning for the fence grabs wasn't possible during a finish-- so the ref just said fuck it this guys done anyway.
